Happy Scorpio Full Moon! This is the time in the lunar calendar when the spotlight is on power, intimacy, sexuality, taboo, and the psyche. As you can imagine, Scorpio isn’t an easy sign. It takes us through life’s more challenging emotions and experiences. It teaches us about rebirth. With that in mind, the full moon is exact on April 29, 2018 at 8:59 pm EDT, 9 degrees Scorpio/Taurus. That’s 5:59 pm Los Angeles, 1:59 am London on April 30 and 10:59 am in Sydney.

Scorpio Full Moons can feel a little bit like a punch in the gut. There’s a bracing honesty to the sign, a penchant for reality that strikes an emotional chord. It forces us to look our fears and to discover our power in the face of those who take it away from us. Full moons are revelations and this one is shining a light on all the things we’re not supposed to talk about in polite company.

Here’s the thing. We’re already well accustomed to the energy of Scorpio over the last few months, ever since Jupiter arrived in Scorpio on October 10. Jupiter in Scorpio has been the great purge of all of our sexual trauma as well as the letting go of our more troubling emotions and memories. As a result, the full moon will bring to a head this Jupiter in Scorpio era. What secret are you ready to let go of? What darkness is past its prime?

Ruled by Mars, we find the energy of the full moon pointing over to Capricorn. If fact, Mars recently made its way past Pluto, a powerhouse lineup of planets that only happens once every two years. The Mars/Pluto conjunction on April 26 was a precursor to this full moon. It poked and prodded us. And even though the conjunction is behind us, it’s still very much active with this full moon.

The days around the full moon will likely be emotionally and psychically intense. With our feelings and sensitivities amplified, we may be staring down a deep seated fear. And that’s the function of Scorpio. It doesn’t sugar coat. But, by facing our fears, we reconnect with our bravery, our courage, and our ability to meet any challenge in life. For that Scorpio is a warrior and this full moon is a rebirth.

With Saturn in Capricorn a major player in this full moon, it’s possible that our fears are around money, stability, and our ambitions for the future. Do we have what it takes to be successful? Or do we need to confront our inner saboteur? The one that thinks we’re not good enough? Not powerful enough to manifest what we want? The one that undercuts our success? We also have to get real with this full moon; Capricorn is another sign that doesn’t sugar coat.

Lastly, this full moon is also square the nodes, so not only are we half way between the eclipses, but we may see a manifestation of something that was seeded in the January and February eclipses. The full moon is also a turning point, one designed to propel us forward in our soul’s evolution.

Are you ready?

PS — I’m a guest speaker at an event in Manhattan on Sunday, May 6 on astrology and energetics. I’ll be also giving a preview of Uranus in Taurus. Details here.
