So you’re an astrologer. What can you do for me?
Using your birth information (date, exact time, place), I can pull back the layers of your soul. The natal chart — the snapshot of the sky when you were born — tells me why you’re here, the challenges you’re working out in this lifetime, and what you need to heal. I can also look into the future and explain what cycles you’re entering and what changes to expect. Or we can look at your karmic history, past lives, and reconnect you with your true north of your spiritual compass.
In a nutshell, if you’ve ever been in a sticky time in your life when you can’t quite get clarity or you feel stuck, I’m your gal.
How does your work differentiate from other astrologers?
While I work within the traditional framework of astrology (i.e., self discovery and predictive work), I have a slightly different view on the planetary energies in the birth chart. For one, my work hinges on the belief that we are souls moving through multiple lifetimes. The birth chart shows where we’ve been in our past lives and what karma we’ve brought in to this one. I look at where we carry our wounds and how those wounds impact certain areas of our lives.
The other big component that I bring to my work is my intuition and ability to transmute energy. I’m all about rooting out the deeper material, whether from this life or previous lives, and bringing it into the conscious mind for transformation. I’ve been told by my clients that I channel a higher energy — a warm, loving energy — and it passes through me and into a sacred space created during the session.
I want to know what’s going to happen to me this year. Can you tell me?
I’m a big picture astrologer, so it’s less about looking at the day-to-day astrology. When I sit down with your various charts, I’m looking for major trends. Is this a year of change? Is there a spotlight on career? Relationships? Astrology tells us what time it is in our life and looking at a natal chart is like reading a clock. I also look at the energetic underpinnings of what is going on. I’ll also check in with my guides and yours to see what more they can reveal.
What type of astrology do you do?
Sometimes I call what I do karmic astrology, sometimes I call it spiritual astrology. Regardless, I look at the natal chart as an expression of the soul’s intentions in this life time and the journey completed thus far. It’s a unique energetic schematic that reflects lessons learned, lessons yet to be completed, and baggage that needs releasing. The birth information — date, time, place — is like a passcode to the causal or Akashic plane of information that I can retrieve information from.
Why “Empowering Astrology”?
Because a fate cemented in squares and oppositions never sat well with me. That’s not to gloss over the very real terror that come with the darkest of Pluto transits — this Scorpio would never be so flippant. Rather I’ve come to realize that growth cannot happen until you look at your natal weaknesses as opportunities and the path for mastery that your soul chose for this life time. That is Empowering Astrology. I can hold your hand, but I can never do the work for you. I only illuminate the path forward and reconnect you with your soul.
Empowering Astrology is also an astrological modality that stresses co-creation with the planets, not victimization.
How important is it to have an exact birth time?
It’s important. Let’s be honest. It’s what distinguishes you from all the other people born on the same day as you. A natal chart with an exact birth time is like looking at the fullness of your soul. BUT not everyone has access to their birth time for various reasons. In those cases I can look at something called the solar chart. If you don’t have your exact birth time, we can still work together! However if you can track down the record, it’s worth the effort.
Additionally, my intuition is a major component to what I do, so that is something that I use in the absence of the birth time. Note that if you were born in the US, you can contact the vitals department of the state you were born in and request a new birth certificate. Make sure your request asks for the time.
I’m thinking about booking a consultation with you. How do I do that?
You can email me and I can walk you through what’s right for you or you can go to my consultations page and place your order. When you book, I will email you and we’ll set up a time to speak over the phone. Or we can speak via Skype if you have an account. Generally I book people for evenings or weekends NYC time. Still not sure? Check out my client testimonials.
What can I expect from a consultation?
I usually start our session by asking how much you know about astrology and asking what is going on right now. Usually people come to an astrologer because they are stuck or in crisis and need answers. My style of work tends to be very conversational with a good back and forth. The last thing I want is to talk at you and overload you with information. I want you to feel at ease as this opens you up energetically, allowing me to hear the energy behind your words. That’s where my intuition kicks in, adding another layer to the chart interpretation.
I think a successful consultation is one where the client is willing to share their intimate experiences as it relates to the natal chart. Maybe it’s because I’m a Scorpio, but I don’t shy away from asking the difficult questions, especially if I see a difficult aspect in the natal chart. Note that our time together is sacred and confidential.
Do you record your consultations?
Yes I do! After our consultation, usually within a few days, I will email a link for you to download the mp3 file via a service called Hightail.
How are payments processed?
Do you have any payment policies?
All consultations are prepaid, which not only ensures a successful appointment but energetically commits you to the work we’ll be doing.
If you’ve purchased a reading or a package, you have 12 months to redeem it.
Readings are non refundable.
Readings are non transferable, as in you can’t buy one for yourself and then give it to a friend.
I want to book a session for my friend. Is this a good idea?
This is tricky. If your friend follows my astrology and is aware of how I work, then, yes, go ahead and book for your friend. If your friend knows nothing about astrology and would not have chosen a consultation for his or herself, then I suggest caution. What I do is intimate. I ask personal questions. Your friend might not be ready to go to that level, which in turn makes for an awkward, blind date sort of consultation. Nine times out of ten I advise against gift readings.
Do I need to prepare anything?
It’s helpful to set an intention of what you want our time to be about. Are you looking for healing? Clarity? Release? Set an intention for what feels right for you. If you have specific questions you want answered, email me in advance of the consultation.
Please find a quiet space to call me where you know you’ll be uninterrupted and you can focus on the call. I know we all lead busy lives, but calling me while you’re driving is not only a hazard, but ensures that our time together will not be as successful.
I don’t know anything about astrology, but I’m interested in knowing about my chart.
Great! I can walk you through it and help break down themes in a way that is understandable to you. But I’ll probably ask you a lot of questions about what’s going on in your life in addition, using the natal chart as a reference point.
How often should I talk to an astrologer?
There is no right answer. Trust your intuition. Maybe you need to do some intensive healing work and so talking frequently is the right solution for you. But if you’re talking to an astrologer often because you’re afraid of making a decision for yourself, then I would challenge you to be more in your power and command of your own choices. An ethical astrologer will never tell you what to do.
Where are you located?
I’m in Brooklyn, New York.
What are your business hours?
As of right now I see clients weekday evenings at 7:30 pm eastern and from 10 am to 4 pm eastern on Saturdays and 11 am to 3 pm on Sundays. Sometimes I’m available outside of these times. Please email to see if that is possible. Note that I am unavailable during weekday normal business hours.
Do you ever see clients in person?
Occasionally. If you are in New York City and don’t mind a subway ride, email me and we’ll work something out. Although the bulk of what I do is over the phone or Skype.
Do you work with clients outside of the United States?
Yes! And I love connecting with people around the world. So long as you can use PayPal, have a good command of the English language, have a Skype account, and the time zone difference isn’t a barrier. I’ve worked with clients in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, England, France, Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands, Japan, and Sweden. Note that New York City, where I’m located, is -5 GMT. If you don’t use Skype and need to connect via local phone number, let me know and I can charge you in advance the cost of the call based on Skype’s international calling rates from the US.
Can you make everything better?
I wish. I know far too well what it feels like to be in a very tight place and caught in that dark night of the soul. But that’s your journey and your soul is learning something very vital from it so let’s dig and discover just what. Never forget that you are powerful and that you co-create everything in your life. I can show you the different paths to take, but it’s up to you to decide which way to go.
