Another day, another cosmic shift. Chiron and Saturn are in the spotlight as Chiron arrives in Aries and Saturn turns retrograde in Capricorn. While Chiron touches on more abstract themes, it’s Saturn’s turn that feels tangible, real. There’s something we have to get serious about.
Think back to late December. That’s when Saturn kicked off its Capricorn journey, a three year story around growing up, getting older, and holding ourselves to a higher standard of excellence. With Saturn in Capricorn, we can’t get away with the things we were getting away with before. Saturn is the cop, the parent, the planet of consequences as well as boundaries. While Saturn has a harsh reputation, it’s a planet that we should never fail to live up to because Saturn is pushing us to be at our best. As a result, strive for excellence this week and also push yourself towards your goals, even if they seem unreachable.
On the Chiron front, the planet that speaks to our personal and collective suffering arrives in Aries, kicking off a nine year story. While I go into this in depth in my Chiron in Aries article (also linked below), note that it’s a good day to take a look at your relationship with the sign of Aries. How do you take action and initiative in your life? What’s your relationship with aggression and anger? Are you courageous or do you fear moving forward? Do you fail to get things started? Do you suffer from an inability to take lead?
Chiron is a complicated influence in astrology, but one that speaks to deep healing both personal and collective. First we have to acknowledge our spiritual and psychic knots, the ones that pull and disfigure the tapestry of our lives.
