Happy Leo Full Moon! This is the time of the year when we shine a light on talent, identity, passion, creativity, art, performance, splendor, pride, and courage. In short, get ready to strut your stuff! The full moon will clock in on February 3, 2015 at 6:05 pm EST, 14 degrees Leo. (That’s 3:05 pm in Los Angeles, 11:05 pm in London, 10:05 am in Sydney on 2/4.)
For whatever reason I’ve had a really hard time writing this full moon report. It should be a slam dunk. The full moon is in party Leo! It’s conjunct Jupiter, the planet of good fortune! Awesome!! Practically writes itself. The end. But, inexplicably, my words failed to grow into something cogent. Maybe Mercury Retrograde is to blame? After writing in circles I began to wonder if this was in fact a manifestation of the story at the heart of this full moon.
See, over the past two years Leo did not have it easy. Normally a sign known for its confidence and exuberance, it labored under Saturn in Scorpio like a flame deprived of oxygen. Even Jupiter in Leo couldn’t shake this heavy weight despite many promises to the contrary!
Fast forward to present day and Saturn, thankfully, is out of Scorpio! But I think Leo is still trying to get its groove back. It’s a sign that not only had to endure the past two years, but it had to grow up as well. That said, Leo is still a creative sign and something will no doubt blossom under this full moon. It may be a project, a relationship, or even a goal. But whatever it is, it’s had a slow gestation.
Believe it or not I’m actually a fan of Saturn. I think that the test that Saturn makes all of us endure leads to something rock solid. Yes, it takes some of the fun out of bringing something into this world, but the result will last the ages. Keep that in mind as you survey what blossoms in the coming days. We’ve worked hard under Saturn’s gaze, but now it’s time to see the fruit of our labors. And with Jupiter and the full moon trine Uranus, the results may be unexpected. Saturn square Neptune, however, says surrender any expectations.
Regardless, let’s all breathe a sigh of relief. After last month’s punch-in-the-gut Cancer Full Moon, this one is a welcome change of pace — especially with Jupiter playing a starring role. In astrology Jupiter is growth. It’s faith, luck, and the enduring belief that things will work out in the end. And we need this, yes? Especially after the road we’ve walked of late.
