I’m fascinated by astrology and this idea of metaphorical time. When the Sun is in Pisces, as it is for most of March, the cosmic weather shifts. It gets hazy and damp with a dash of glitter. We also experience life through the prism of compassion, sensitivity, spirituality, and reflection as well as suffering, grief, illusion, and the breakdown of boundaries. That’s a pretty big polarity, but that’s Pisces, from the highest consciousness — unity, universality — to the lowest — separation, loss. March has all the makings of a major month and much of it will be experienced through the lens of Pisces.
First, we’ve got a major solar eclipse at 18 Pisces on March 8. It’s on the South Node, too, conjunct Chiron, square Saturn, and opposing Jupiter. All you need to know is this — eclipses are the engines of fate. Every six months we open a new chapter fueled by a new matrix of energies. And the solar eclipse will turn our attention to deep Piscean themes with spiritual imperative to get real, be of service, and figure out what we believe in.
March will also be a month when we’re acutely aware of our pain. Like a lance to an infection or a dig into a knot of scar tissue, Chiron in Pisces on the South Node will be an uncomfortable look at our emotional and spiritual wounds. But keep in mind that the South Node is fundamentally about release as much as it about the past and our karma. How will we take steps to heal this month? Let go?
One of the most beautiful things about Pisces — and, by extension, the planet Neptune — is this idea of redemption. That anything and everything can, when asked for it in a true act of surrender, can be purified and redeemed. If we feel overwhelmed by our emotions and past traumas this month, call on the energy of redemption. Purify the past. Seek physical healing through the energies of Jupiter in Virgo. Saturn will station retrograde in Sagittarius on March 25, too. What does faith mean to us? Pilgrimage? The quest for truth? The cosmos is highlighting big existential themes.
Lastly, we’ll have a lunar eclipse in Libra on March 23. Wrapping up a series of eclipses in Libra/Aries, this one will be a coda for themes of peace, cooperation, and relationship. Venus will be in Pisces conjunct Neptune as well. There’s magic to be had this month, but we can’t escape the work.

Aries
What’s in your shadow? What are your secrets? Who — or what — holds the power in your life? After eight long weeks of asking yourself the hard questions, you may have the answers. So, what have you learned about yourself? When Mars, your ruling planet, arrives in Sagittarius on March 5, truth and meaning will become underlined for you. Sag is also your travel sign and you may be packing your bags for a long distance trip or even reading about foreign cultures and philosophies. In short, this will be a month to move and stretch your legs — both literally and metaphorically. But keep in mind that you’re in a bigger chapter when you’re doing major work in the sign of Sagittarius (travel, knowledge, faith). With Saturn coming to a standstill this month, turning retrograde on March 25, think of March as the big test after last year’s intensive study. The other major news this month in a month packed with headlining cosmic events is the solar eclipse on March 8. Falling in Pisces, your sign of retreat, meditation, recuperation, and letting go, March will be a deep meditation on faith and spirituality. Truth be told, Aries, you’ve been through quite a lot. Has it broken you? Or have you found a quiet resilience that you didn’t know was there? And is your faith stronger than ever for it? Nevertheless, the solar eclipse will open up a six month chapter where you will be taking deep look at karma, the past, and endings. Looking ahead to the lunar eclipse on March 23, you will have a decision to make about a relationship or alliance — maybe even one that began back in September 2014. With Venus, your relationship ruler, over in Pisces, it may be a match made in heaven. Or you’re not seeing the whole story. Regardless, Saturn’s influence in the eclipse will set a high bar for any decisions made. Want to learn more about how the astrology of March will affect you? Book your consultation now.

Taurus
Ever since Saturn arrived in your chart’s wealth and finance sector back in September, you’ve been taking a hard look at money. And not just your money, but the money you have access to through a partner and even credit cards, loans, and benefits. Saturn is all about getting our lives shipshape. So, if debt and financial stability have been an area in need of attention, this month will be about getting down to brass tacks — especially after Mars arrives in this area on March 5. You may be dealing with loans or something that you jointly own with another person. But the main event this month will be the arrival of a solar and lunar eclipse, two astrological markers of change, urgency, and decision. The first, a solar eclipse on March 8, will open up a new chapter in a friendship or within your community. With themes of sacrifice and letting go, you may be feeling old pain around your connection to the world. Do you belong? Are you supported by your friends, allies, and tribe? Or do you feel alienated? Sometimes we get lost in the crowd. Don’t forget about your talents and what sets you apart from others. It has value in the world. Turning ahead to the lunar eclipse on March 23, you will have a decision to make about your health or how you take care of yourself. This may include making changes in diet and fitness to examining what in your day-to-day life needs to change. The eclipse may also trigger a sense of urgency or resolution with a project or with a colleague. Want to learn more about how the astrology of March will affect you? Book your consultation now.

Gemini
Heads up, Gemini. You’ve got a big month ahead. Let’s tally it up. First, on March 5, Mars will activate your relationship sign, Sagittarius. Truth be told, this is a bit of a noisy placement for Mars. Over the month you may be on the defense with people, from romantic partners to your one-on-one interactions. A long simmering issue may come to the surface, especially a differing of opinions or beliefs. Alternatively, Mars may inspire you to make connection with people who share the same philosophy as you. Also on March 5, Mercury will reach the highest point in your chart. If Mercury is your ruling planet, then March will be a time when you naturally reach toward ambitions, focus on career, direction in life, and your place in the world. The solar eclipse on March 8 will active a new phase in your professional life, one where you may be thinking of leaving one path behind for another. March will be a big decision time for you as many corners of your life will be up for review. Do you keep going the same direction or do you make a major change? Is your current path unsustainable. Or are you ready to recommit to where you are? Do you need to move? Is a change needed in the home? Lots of questions to figure out, Gemini. Speaking of commitment, Saturn’s station retrograde in your relationship sign on March 25 will have you reassessing a major connection in your life. You’re already in a two year period of bolstering your relationships. Although Gemini likes to keep it fast and loose, even you will have to commit to one thing and stick to it — even if that choice is to leave. Cancer
Think back to September 2014. Specifically the time after the new moon on September 24. Although it may feel strange to look back over a year ago, something began at that time — a chapter opened in one of the more sensitive areas of your chart. Maybe there was a change in the home, a major move, or shift in your inner circle. I mention this because the lunar eclipse on March 23 will activate that new moon like the climax of a story. Lunar eclipses bring a sense of urgency, a need for decision, or a rapid revelation as you see things for what they really are. True, this all sounds a bit dramatic, but this is the last eclipse in an area of your life that has seen a lot of major change over the past few years — home, family, and the very foundation of your life. In the run up to this eclipse, Mars will switch signs on March 5, activating your chart’s sector of health, wellness, and work. This is a bit of an active placement for Mars and you may find your schedule heating up with things to do and organize. Similarly, you may need to channel Mars’s fire toward going to the gym or making changes in your diet. Note that Mars will spend an extra long time in this area of your chart; things may be quite busy into the end of May. On March 8, a solar eclipse will open a major new beginning in education, specialized study, faith, belief, and travel. In short, you’ll be entering a quest to figure out what your truth is and put it into practical application. Want to learn more about how the astrology of March will affect you? Leo
What’s buried deep inside? What are your secrets? What is the pain you hide from others and even yourself? Caught up in all the sensitivities of Pisces, the Sun’s annual trip through the last sign of the zodiac will be an exploration into the unknown. In fact, the solar eclipse on March 8 will kick off a new chapter of examining and — yes — healing the psychic knots and wounds you carry. Leo likes to put on a sunny face, but even you have your scars. As a result, you may be thinking of doing deep emotional work this month — anything that touches on themes of security, intimacy, and the sort of things we only reveal to those we trust. It’s worth mentioning that on top of all this, March will be a month to seriously examine at your talents and how you value your creativity. Already on paper Leo is a creative sign, one that likes to perform, play, and show off. But do you take it seriously? Are you committed to taking your talents further? Do you have the dedication and discipline to practice, practice, practice? Further, what are your hidden insecurities? Time for a breakthrough, Leo. So, get ready to dazzle us. Looking ahead, you’ll start to feel a little more like yourself after March 20 when the Sun arrives in fiery Aries. Refreshed and renewed, you may be planning a trip abroad or looking at ways to fill your brain with different philosophies and viewpoints — or even publishing your own. On March 23, the lunar eclipse may bring matters to a head in education or in communication. Look out for important news around that time. Virgo
Life hasn’t been easy lately. True, Jupiter has been in Virgo along with inflated promises of luck and good fortune, but if anything you’ve been maxing out on yourself. (Although Jupiter has probably saved you more than a few times since August.) Virgo wants everything to be perfect and you’ve probably have had more than a few anxiety attacks of late. So, what happens when you let go? Let go of the details, the perfection, the list of things to do, and the responsibility? Will the world fall apart? Probably not, but maybe you’ll start to feel better. March will be a lesson in surrender. With so many parts of your life up in the air, all you can do is ride the wave. The action will kick off on March 5 when Mars arrives at the bottom of your chart, heating themes of home, family, and emotional security. The home may be a busy place as a result. There may be a move or an impulse to make changes in your living situation. Also on March 5, Mercury, your ruling planet, will arrive in Pisces and spend half the month focusing on relationships. This will be a natural time for you to connect to a partner or collaborate with people. Speaking of relationships, the solar eclipse on March 8 will activate a major chapter in your life. Something will have to shift with a partner, something will have to leave or end in order for something else to come in. A lot of emotional material may bubble up this month as well, especially fears and old pain over whether you can rely on others to be there for you. Looking ahead, the lunar eclipse on March 23 will bring a financial matter to a head. You may have a decision to make about money or material security. Libra
A lot has shifted in the past few years, not that I need to tell you that. So, when think back to September 2014, can you see the distance covered. That month, during the last few weeks, something began and a seed was planted within you. Over the course of eighteen months it’s grown and now, in March 2016, you may even be able to see it. These are two points linked in time and the lunar eclipse on March 23 will bring this story to a culmination. Another thing to keep on your radar is that Venus will arrive in Pisces on March 12, turning your focus toward work, health, diet, and fitness. Preceded by the solar eclipse in Pisces on March 8, this area of your life will already be marked for major change over the coming weeks. Something about your day-to-day life may be changing, from your schedule or the people you work with to how you take care of your body. With the energy of the eclipse shooting over to Virgo, time to get real this month. What needs to leave? What habits do you need to shed? Where do you need rehab. It’s all about purification this month, both physical and spiritual. Another major area of focus this month will be the Saturn station on March 25. This is a planet that has already been riding on you to honor your word, make a commitment to your education, and reflect on your karma around your thoughts, ideas, and beliefs. Pay attention to the days around March 25. They will reveal where you’re doing serious work until the end of 2017. Make adjustments as needed. Scorpio
Heads up, Scorpio! On March 5 your ruling planet Mars will switch signs. Mars was in Scorpio, which was GREAT! (Or exhausting??) But now it’s onto Sagittarius, your money sign. Translation? Over the next ten weeks you’ll be digging into themes of financial security, value, and material accumulation. Mind you this is an area that received top priority when Saturn arrived in Sagittarius back in September and, hopefully, you’ve already been working on creating more stability in your life This month will crank that story up. You may even have a major financial milestone to tick off the list especially around the solar eclipse on March 8. But mostly the solar eclipse will open up a major conversation about talent, self expression, and creativity . . . and the tension between what you want versus the sacrifices you make for something bigger. Similarly, how do you be part of something — a group, a collective goal — and still maintain a sense of who you are? Chiron will be on the eclipse, too, so you’ll be digging into deep knots over the coming months around where you are afraid to express who you are and your talents. How will you heal these old stories? Maybe the lunar eclipse on March 23 will help. Falling in a part of your chart known for retreat and release, the eclipse will bring an urgent sense to let something go. After all, lunar eclipses coincide with major decisions, a time when we see something for what it really is. And with the energy of the eclipse going right back to the part of your chart revealing themes of identity, there will be a sense this month that the version of who you thought you were is maybe not the real you when you strip away the pain and the old stories. Sagittarius
Life’s heating up this month, Sag! If fact, there’s a lengthy list of cosmic events in the gate this month. Let’s start from the top! First, Mars will move into Sagittarius on March 5. If Mars is action and motivation, this will be the planetary equivalent of lighting a fire under you. But here’s the thing. There’s a bigger narrative happening this month — plus the surrounding months as well — that speaks of surrender and forces far bigger than you. For all your desire to get moving in March, there’s a lot of other things that need negotiation. Which brings me to the solar eclipse on March 8. Falling at the bottom of your chart, you’ll be entering a six month period focused on the foundation of your life. This may bring a move, a change in living situation, or shift in the narrative with family or the people in your inner circle. The eclipse will also dig up old pain as well as the past. The bottom of the chart is a very sensitive area of the horoscope wheel that speaks to emotional security, roots, and the things that only the people closest to us see. So a change will happen behind the scenes as well as within. But the energy of the eclipse will activate your place in the world, career, status, and reputation. There will be a tension over the coming months between what you need to feel rooted versus your worldly ambitions. The other thing to keep on the list will be Saturn’s station retrograde on March 25. Ever since September 2015, you’ve been under Saturn’s watchful and exacting gaze. Time to grow up, push yourself to higher ambitions, and step up to your responsibilities. This month will be a major check in with that process. Want to learn more about how the astrology of March will affect you? Book your consultation now.

Capricorn
What does it mean to let go? Surrender? To connect with a higher power? Capricorn is an earth sign, which means that it’s most comfortable with its feet on solid ground. But this month the ground beneath you will shift even more, the walls will blur, and your dreams will be more vivid. Keep in mind that you’re in a longer period, since September 2015, of release. It’s just you and Source right now and you may be keenly aware of the things you can’t bring with you on the next chapter in your life. With that in mind, March will dig deeply into themes of faith, mysticism, and spirituality. What do you believe? Even if you can’t see it? Quantify it? March will also be an emotional month as you ask yourself, what do I need to feel safe and secure? What’s holding me back? The answers are within. So get quiet, meditate, and reflect. With Mars in the last area of your chart until the end of May, you’ll be in retreat mode until then. But even as you turn inward, that’s not to say that nothing is happening in your life. The solar eclipse on March 8, in fact, will put a major emphasis on travel over the coming six months and life may be a series of appointments and phone calls. But if you’re traveling, it’s not necessarily for fun and sun. No, you’ll be on a quest for something deeper — wisdom, understanding, and a sense of personal direction. You may even travel for classes or for spiritual development. The full moon on March 23 will bring matters to a head in career and your direction in life. You may have a professional decision to make or you may hear news tied directly to your career. That said, one chapter in your public life will be coming to a close and another beginning — one more aligned with your spiritual truth. Aquarius
Aquarius, you’re a big picture sign. So maybe you’ll appreciate it as I zoom out on your life for a moment. Starting last September, which is when your ruling planet Saturn changed signs, the major focus of your life has been trying to figure out where to go next. The 2012–2015 time period in many ways was the peak of a cycle (not the only cycle in your life, but one of the important ones). Coming off that peak, there’s a sense of looking ahead and planning for the future. You’ve always been a forward facing sign, so, time to use your patented ability to anticipate trends and be the vanguard — especially with your career ambitions. Saturn’s station retrograde on March 25 will bring this new chapter in your life to a head followed by a few months of reassessing your decisions. Another way Saturn has manifested is through your connection to your community and friends. This month you may be reevaluating your connections and the strength of your network. Are your friends really there for you? Or is your community rock solid? In other news, the solar eclipse on March 8 will open up a new chapter in money, income, and material security. Over the next six months you may find new ways to draw an income, one that is more in alignment with your values and your need to impact the world in positive ways. Sometimes life demands a leap of faith, a leap into the unknown. You may even be taking a serious look at your fears around financial stability and worth as well. What are your blocks around wealth? What is wealth for you? Then, on March 23, a lunar eclipse will bring a decision or a need for resolution in education. Additionally this may be time to finally publish your ideas. Pisces
Happy birthday, Pisces! And with all the planets in your sign this month, it’ll be as if the cosmos threw you a party … but the kind of party where you’re not quite sure how some of the guests got invited. (Wait, who are these guys?) First, the solar eclipse on March 8 in Pisces will open up a major new chapter in your life, one that will unfold over the coming six months. You’ve always been a sensitive sort, so this solar eclipse may be touching a deeper nerve than usual. Where do you feel different? Unwanted? Like the world is too much? It’s hard to have a party when you feel so exposed, especially if your birthday is on or close to March 8. (The uninvited guests are actually all the emotions bubbling to the surface. Awesome! Thanks!) With the energy of the eclipse going toward Virgo, your relationship sign, you may have a major decision to make about an alliance, collaboration, or marriage. Is it supporting your ambitions, achievements, and professional drive? Are you and a mate on the same page? If you’re single, maybe this eclipse will push you toward making a major connection, one that is both a leap of faith and an act of vulnerability — especially around the lunar eclipse on March 23. Nobody is an island, Pisces. Everyone needs a buddy, especially through all of life’s twists and turns. The other area of major focus this month will be career. And I’m not talking about work. I mean aspirations, direction, a need to make something of yourself in the world and slap the requisite title after your name. Ever since Saturn arrived in the highest reaches of your chart back in September, you’ve been in a longer stretch of time when it’s about professional achievement as well as taking on more responsibility. If this is an area you struggle with, know that Saturn is putting pressure on you to define who you are on a public level. When Saturn stations retrograde on March 25, this need will become more pressing. Alternatively, this month may be when you start to see the first fruits of all your tireless labor.
