Happy Full Moon in Gemini! This is the time of the year when our intentions come to fruition in support of writing, speaking, education, information gathering, and learning. The full moon is exact 12/17/2013 at 4:28 am EST, 25 degrees Gemini/Sagittarius. In addition, think back to June’s New Moon in Gemini as seeds planted then are now ready for harvest.
It’s in Gemini that we learn to crawl and explore our immediate surroundings. Gemini is the five senses and like a baby we try everything having not yet learned the discernment of Virgo, the other sign ruled by Mercury. In Gemini, things tend to come in pairs — it is the sign of the twins after all. And as someone who has a lot of Gemini/Mercury in her chart, I’ve noticed the sign’s affinity for multiplicity over the years. Why have one when you can have seventeen?
The full moon is when the light of the moon is at its brightest. Like a spotlight, it shines upon an area or concern in our lives, demanding attention. The full moon is action and the energy to propel us forward. During full moons we may have a realization that changes our direction, make a decision to end something, or finally see the fruit of our labors. It’s a flowering and a culmination. With the Moon in Gemini, we may get much needed information or release something that we’ve written into the world.
In the chart of the full moon, the action is fairly contained to the signs of Gemini and Sagittarius — the first gathers information and the second brings it together into belief and ideology. Mercury, currently in Sagittarius and applying to the Sun, invites us to explore new philosophies and to reach far beyond our small little worlds for nuggets of wisdom that change everything. It’s interesting that the full moon is quite close to the Galactic Center (aka the center of our galaxy, the ribbon of stars we call the Milky Way) at 26/27 Sagittarius. There’s a higher intelligence trying to come through — an interstellar intelligence. For an idea of the perspective that Sagittarius commands, take a look at this footage of the Moon orbiting the earth — the first image ever taken in human history.
Uranus also turns direct, the same day as the full moon. Something revolutionary is brewing. Paired with Gemini and Sagittarius, information or wisdom — or both — may rock your world in the coming week, something that completely transforms your understanding or provides a much needed eureka moment. So what will it be? Prepare for the download.
