We’re in the middle of some tough astrology, astrology that reminds me that if we want something bad enough we need to be prepared to climb, endure. Of course there will be doubts, but if we don’t push ourselves we’ll never know what we are capable of.
Mars and its opposition to Saturn today and to Pluto on June 19 isn’t easy and reminds me of a documentary I watched recently on people who climb mountains “solo”, which is to say without any ropes or safety harnesses. It’s a feat that requires intense concentration, strength, and stamina.
The odds are stacked against us right now and we may be feeling an intense pressure to overcome something. We may even be feeling the hardness of Saturn as if hitting a wall. Saturn can certainly make us feel our limits. It’s a planet that can tell us “no” if we’ve strayed out of bounds or have not been in integrity.
On the other hand, in its positive facet, Saturn represents the mountain we need to climb in our lives — the mountain of success, the mountain of achievement. And what’s being required of us now is concentration, strength, and stamina. (Read more about Saturn in In Defense of Saturn.)
If you are a Capricorn or a Cancer, you’re certainly feeling this week. Someone over on Instagram remarked that they felt as if they were going to break. And if you’re a Mars ruled Aries or Scorpio, you’re also under intense pressure and perhaps even a bit of scrutiny. You maybe even doubting yourself right now.

So, we’re coming up to a crossroads. The choices that we will be making are being forged by this week’s astrology. Use it wisely. Reach towards your greater goals. Transform yourself where you need to transform yourself. Say no to what you need to say no to. But don’t give up.
