Happy Libra Full Moon! Happy equinox! This is the time of the year when the spotlight is on relationships and how we socialize with one another. Ruled by Venus, Libra teaches about equity, consensus, and negotiation. It’s also beauty, art, design, and fashion as well. That said, the full moon is exact on March 20, 2019 at 9:43 pm EDT, 0 degrees Libra/Aries. That’s 6:43 pm Los Angeles, 2:43 am London on March 21, and 12.58 pm in Sydney.

Full moons thicken the plot. They mark a dramatic point in a story that began at the new moon two weeks before. Under the light of the full moon we see something for what it is. Or, we’re grappling with a crisis or something that demands our attention. Nevertheless we’re at a turning point. We have a decision to make. Something is changing.

When a full moon falls in the sign of Libra, whatever we’re dealing with needs negotiation and charm. It needs the help of others as well as partnership and understanding. It’s also a time when we’re naturally seeking relationship. Libra never wants to do anything alone.

When we follow the energies of the full moon, we find Venus over in Aquarius, a fellow air sign, highlighting social networks, friendships and groups. This is a full moon that really wants to get out there and connect, share, and meet new people. Venus is also making a square to Mars in Taurus, so there’s a natural tension or even a feistiness with this full moon. (Maybe even a sexual tension. Venus and Mars together are known for their sparks.)

Let’s not forget that the full moon occurs just hours after the equinox, one of the two times a year when there are equal parts day and night. It’s Aries Season now, the first of the astrological signs. It’s a time of renewal, fresh starts, and new beginnings.

Zero degrees of any sign has a potency to it and 0 Libra/Aries is part of the cardinal axis. And a full moon at 0 degrees cardinal just amplifies the energies. We’re going into a new season, but one that may really change the status quo.

Speaking of changing the status quo, the full moon makes a quincunx to Uranus in Taurus. There’s something in our blindspot that may come into focus over the next few days, something that may shake things up or reveal in a way that we weren’t expecting. We’re also kicking into this new Uranus in Taurus era, one that pushes and pulls at the tectonic plates of our lives.

Lastly, the full moon makes contact with Chiron’s recent arrival in Aries. It’s a time of new beginnings, but one that presses on old pain or scar tissue. Chiron in Aries is about having the bravery to move forward, to strike out on our own, to be the leader. New beginnings aren’t easy, but we have to have courage to overcome our fears and set an example for others. Chiron in Aries teaches us that our bravery is inspiring and when we move forward we show the way for others to do so.
