Welcome to Aries Season! We’re kicking off the zodiac year. Aries is the renewal of spring, those first signs of life after winter. This season points to Mars in Gemini, which means that it’s also a month to travel and explore, be curious and to try new things.

The Sun in Aries and Mars in Gemini is all fire and air. It’s restless. It needs something to do, someone to talk to, and someplace to go. We may be on the move a lot this month, from trips to spending more time socializing.

The Aries New Moon on April 5 activates this energy, motivating us to learn, take classes, or soak up information any way we can find it. With the energy of Saturn coming down on us this month, it’s a time for us to take our responsibilities as well as our choices seriously.

On April 10, Jupiter turns retrograde in Sagittarius, marking the halfway point in our journey of faith as well as our search for truth and meaning this year. If Mars in Gemini speaks to needing information this month, then Jupiter’s activation this month means that we need to take this information, these ideas and find wisdom. Jupiter’s also helping us look to other lands, other cultures for inspiration. We may even be feeling a call to travel to foreign lands this month.

Mercury finally gets to Aries on April 17, wrapping up its Mercury Retrograde journey that began on March 5. Mercury in Aries may feel like a breath of fresh air, the permission to leap into something new, or set off in a new direction.

A Libra Full Moon on April 19 comes at the very end of the sign of relationships and compromise, forming a coda to the March 20 Libra Full Moon, which was at the beginning of the sign. The last degree of a sign, however, asks that we show that we’ve learned something. That we have gained wisdom and knowledge and maturity from our experiences. We’re being tested on our ability to be in partnership, to find common ground, to compromise, to connect to one another. The next day, on April 20, Venus arrives in Aries and get the results to our test.

Also on April 20, the Sun arrives in Taurus, bringing us into a new season. It’s also reminds us that we’re in a brand new era now that Uranus is also in Taurus for the next seven years. Uranus in Taurus is a revolution in what we value, what we own, and what we think we need. It’s a radical invitation for us to get back into our bodies and back into the pleasure and joy of life. Pay attention to what’s opening up for you on April 22 when the Sun makes its annual conjunction to Uranus. (Shameless plug for my April 6 webinar on Uranus in Taurus.)

Lastly, both Pluto and Saturn turn retrograde in Capricorn this month on April 24 and 29 respectively. This may make for heavy energy, a titanic struggle of forces, of themes of power and control. With the South Node of the Moon in the mix, we have to look at what we’re negatively attached to or what we’re still holding onto even though its long since passed. Pluto may draw a line in the sand for us. Something has to irrevocably transform, but it may mean facing our fears first.

Have courage. It is Aries Season after all.

Read for your Sun and rising sign.

Aries

March 21–April 19

Aries Glyph

Happy birthday, Aries! You’re stepping into a personal year that will continue to demand more from you — more responsibility, more commitment. Hmmm, that doesn’t sound fun. While the coming year is more work than play, don’t miss this opportunity to build as well as make something of yourself. There are going to be times over the course of your life where it’s about stepping up into new roles and showing the world that you’re hard worker. If you spent the last year a little unsure of yourself professionally, then this year you’re figuring out what you want to be when you grow up. (Although if you are at the end of your professional life, then this time is about being the leader and showing others how to get where you’ve gotten.) Keep this in mind because April is putting a fair bit of pressure on you in the work and responsibility department. (The kids these days call it “adulting”.) That said, April also turns your attention to schooling, education, and travel. You start the month off with Mars, your ruling planet, in Gemini, a sign that can make Mars feel restless. You’re on the move as a result, going from appointment to appointment, or getting out of town for a trip or two. You’re reading books, taking classes, and exercising your mind. You also may be more chatty than usual, quick to share what you’re thinking. Jupiter’s retrograde turn on April 10 in Sagittarius reinforces this need to explore and learn this month. You may be planning a long distance trip or a vacation to a foreign land. Or you may simply be in a philosophical mood, wondering what you believe in, what is truth, and what the meaning of life is. That said, communication features prominently this month and with Mercury shaking off the last of its retrograde the first half of April, just be more mindful of what is coming out of your mouth or even what you’re texting to others. Mars in Gemini can be a bit rushed or even temperamental and argumentative. Let’s not forget that it’s your birthday season and the Aries New Moon on April 5 gives you a personal rest. (If your birthday is on or just before or after April 5, the coming year will set you on a new course.) The new moon also squares off with Saturn, so you may be feeling this birthday with a little heaviness if we’re being honest. Saturn makes you aware of time and getting older. It’s also a birthday season to set positive resolutions going forward because you’re under Saturn’s watch this year — brush your teeth, make your bed, do your homework … that kind of stuff. Two weeks later, on April 19, a Libra Full Moon will put the spotlight once again on relationships and social connection. You may remember that we had a Libra Full Moon on March 20. If something came up in your relationships, this second full moon may bring you to the end of that story. The full moon also asks you, whatever your relationship status, what do you want in your partnerships? Are you getting what you need? You may need to make an adjustment, especially after Venus arrives in Aries on April 20, the day after the full moon. Lastly, Pluto turns retrograde in Capricorn on April 24. Again, this isn’t a month to neglect your responsibilities and duties. (Yes, of course, you can celebrate and have fun.) But with Pluto and Saturn so close in the sky right now, there are a lot of eyes on you. Make sure you’re doing all the right things this month. Then again, it’s also a time when you have to leave any negative work situation or work patterns. After all, this is a year about making sure you’re taking care of yourself as well as making home and family a priority. Use the astrology this month to find new balance. Taurus

April 20–May 20

Taurus Glyph

Hey, Taurus, how are you hanging in there? Yes, we’ve been talking about the planet Uranus’s arrival in Taurus for some time now, so it’s good to start off with a reminder that you’re on the cusp of a revolution and personal transformation. Maybe it’s already been happening or maybe you feel like it’s waiting in the wings. Know that since it’s Aries Season, it’s a natural time for you to rest and pull within. Aries represents the end of the road for you so to speak, the last month in your personal calendar before everything resets for your birthday month. So make sure you’re using this pause to catch your breath and reflect on what vision of your life you want to create in your new year. You may even be thinking about value a lot this month. As in, what is it that you really value? It’s natural for Taurus to want to stay attached to things, sometimes to a fault. Make sure you’re taking a look at what you’ve accumulated in your life and examine whether it’s healthy attachment or not. Will it help you in your new year? Or is it weighing you down? The new moon on April 5 is a perfect time to let things go, opening up a lunar month that gives you an opportunity to shed old habits, addictions, and anything else you’re holding onto. Keep in mind that with Saturn and Pluto putting some pressure on you this month, one of the things you can toss aside, Marie Kondo style, is old beliefs, philosophies, and ways of seeing the world. In order for you to get the new you that Uranus in Taurus is hinting at over the next seven years, you have to leave behind the old you, like clothes that don’t fit … or spark joy. (Shameless plug for my April 6 webinar on Uranus in Taurus.) A full moon on April 19 will put the spotlight on health, wellness, and getting organized. If you’re cleaning out the old, how can you tidy up what remains? How can you also prioritize your health as well as how you take care of your body? Lastly, Venus moves into Aries on April 20, pulling you behind the scenes further to rest and prepare for the coming road ahead. May will kick into gear a lot of these personal changes that have been brewing and there may be a lot of movement then. Gemini

May 21–June 20

Gemini Glyph

Feeling fired up, Gemini? All month long you have Mars in Gemini, which is giving you plenty of energy and motivation to move forward. And March’s Mercury Retrograde — your ruling planet, by the way — maybe you’re feeling like all this pent up energy is ready to bust out of you. Let’s rewind for a moment. All March long, Mercury was in a long dance with the planet Neptune in Pisces. If were feeling more emotional than usual or a little confused or unanchored, that’s because Neptune pulled at the edges of your reality. A lot dissolved for you in March, or at least that was the point. Keep in mind that Mercury is still in Pisces for the first half of April, still pointing you towards themes of career, responsibility, and defining your place in the world. Now that Mercury is direct, you may still be sorting through some of the things you were dealing with during March. What Neptune was trying to teach you is that whatever you’re doing in the world, it has to feed your soul as much as it feeds your ambition. So, with Mars heating up Gemini, you may be feeling a push to make changes or move forward with things that you were thinking about or working through all March long. When Mercury finally leaves Pisces for Aries on April 17, you’ll really be motivated to take action or begin anew. Speaking of which, it’s Aries Season, which means that it’s a natural time to get a fresh start, but it’s also a time in your personal calendar to reach out to friends, make connections in your community, and to network. It’s a social time as well, so don’t be surprised if you’re spending more time with friends or even making new friends, especially after the Aries New Moon on April 5. With the energy of the new moon pointing towards Mars in Gemini, you may feel like it’s time to be a leader in your community or get involved in a social cause. Two weeks later, on April 19, a full moon lights up the sign of Libra, your sign of play, romance, creativity, and self expression. It’s also a full moon where you need to remember what your gifts and talents are and not shy away from sharing them with the world. That said, there may be a heavy undertone to April as both Pluto and Saturn turn retrograde in your chart’s sector of deep emotions, the psyche, facing your fears, and learning to trust. Something buried may come to the surface or you may receive insight on the next level of emotional healing and transformation work that you need to do. This may even mean facing the self saboteur within. Can you let go of these old patterns so that you can trust yourself enough to find safety and stability this year? Want to learn more about how the astrology of April will affect you? Book your consultation now.

Key Themes: Career, direction, responsibilities, title, status, ambitions, the world, worldly life, higher callings, spiritual responsibilities, illusions, intuition, sensitivity, emotions, the deep self, facing fears, facing shadow, self destructive tendencies, letting go of old emotional patterns, new beginnings, taking action, motivation, restlessness, chattiness, aggression, taking the lead, friendships, community, social circle, social network, groups, belonging.

Cancer

June 21–July 22

Cancer Glyph

It’s Aries Season, which means the Sun is traveling through the highest reaches of your chart this month. It’s a time in your personal calendar to reach out into the world, tend to your professional responsibilities, and get a fresh start with your ambitions. The new moon on April 5 opens the door to something new, which means that over the coming four weeks, the length of the lunar month, you may be making a change in your career or in your position. But this month may feel bittersweet or a little emotional because Aries Season is pointing to a part of your chart that speaks to endings, letting go, and shedding what’s no longer serving you. Is it possible that as you step up into the world this month, you’ll have to clear some space? Or a new job means that the door is closing on an old one? Quite possibly. It’s also a time to check in with what you really want to create for yourself in the world and whether it fills your heart and soul as much as it does your ambitions. Speaking of heart, a second Libra Full Moon on April 19 (the first one was on March 20) puts the spotlight on home, family, and your living situation. It’s time to tend to your roots again, to feather your nest, and make a decision about where you’re going to live or how you’re going to live. Since the full moon on March 20 initiated a story, it may take the full moon on April 19 to bring closure. It also makes your emotional needs a priority this month. Another thing that’s important to talk about is relationships. With both Pluto and Saturn turning retrograde in Capricorn on April 24 and 29 respectively, there’s some scrutiny on the relationships in your life, from how you interact with others to how you negotiate, compromise, and connect with a partner. And by scrutiny I mean it’s an area of your life that needs attention. What is working in your relationships and what is not? Where do you need to commit? Where do you need to set boundaries or say no? It’s worth noting that you’re in a much longer stretch of time, courtesy of Pluto in Capricorn, where how you interact, partner, and relate to others has to transform. That’s a much bigger story, but important to point on since this month’s astrology connects you back to that narrative arc that began around 2008-2009. Remember, this year, with its focus on relationships means that it’s putting a spotlight on you as well. It’s a year to remember yourself and prioritize your needs as much as someone else’s. Want to learn more about how the astrology of April will affect you? Book your consultation now.

Key Themes: Career, professional life, status, ambition, the world, responsibilities, direction, job change, change in title, letting go, shedding the old, endings, the home, living situation, roots, foundation, family, emotional needs, relationships, partnerships, other people, socializing, compromise, negotiation, power, control, authority.

Leo

July 23–August 22

Leo Glyph

Feeling like you want to roam? Get out and travel? Aries Season is your time to explore the world. It’s a season of journeys and discovery. The new moon on April 5 kicks off a four week chapter that will inspire you to search and travel. Even if you can’t get on a plane, train, or hop in a car for a long distance road trip, make sure you’re discovering the world in others ways, like education, philosophy, and spirituality. With with the energy of the new moon pointing towards Gemini, this Aries Season also speaks to friendships, community, and the social networks that you’re a part of. As a result, you may be spending more time with friends and allies this month or delving deep into themes of connection. If you’ve been feeling a little disconnected or lacking community, how do you face and heal what’s been holding you back from connecting? Mercury’s still in Pisces until April 17, so use the first half of the month to talking out or express some of your deepest, most intimate feelings with someone you trust such as a close friend or ally. Jupiter’s also turning retrograde on April 10, reminding you that this is a year for you to express who you are, to share your talents, and to find your passion. Then on April 17, Mercury finally arrives in Aries after a long stay in Pisces. It’s a new beginning, so get out there and see the world. On April 19, a full moon lights up your sign of communication and learning. You have something to say or you’re taking classes. You may also be hearing news or something hidden may be coming to light. Since this part of the chart speaks to choices, you may have a major decision to make, one that touches on something from the previous full moon on March 20. On April 20, the Sun arrives in Taurus and reminds you that you’re in a seven year chapter of reinventing your career, your ambitions, your direction, and the role you want to play in the world. The Sun’s annual meet up with Uranus on April 22 may feel like a jolt or an awakening. Take cues from Uranus in Taurus as to what is changing and opening in your professional life. Lastly, both Saturn and Pluto are turning retrograde in your sign of work and health, which means that it’s a big check in with your progress of getting your physical body in shape as well as getting your life around you organized and sorted. Are their things you’re still holding onto? Bad habits? Unhelpful ways of taking care of yourself? Do you have workaholic tendencies or an unhealthy relationship with work and responsibility? April may touch on these themes in a very deep way. Saturn is pushing you to take responsibility. Pluto is making it non-negotiable. Give this energy a positive channel by giving your life a deep clean. Want to learn more about how the astrology of April will affect you? Book your consultation now.

Virgo

August 23–September 22

Virgo Glyph

After March’s Mercury Retrograde in Pisces, did something come up for you in your relationships? Was there a story that you had to retrace your steps in? Did you face your illusions or have to work through an illusion? March may have been a strange, confusing, or even an emotional time. Or a time when you had to open up to someone in a way you’ve never before. That said, Mercury wraps up its stay in Pisces on April 17, arriving in Aries and bringing you to a new beginning. The rest of the month and into early May touches on themes of intimacy and trust. Are you ready to be vulnerable? Then again, vulnerability is the name of the game for you this April. With the Sun also in Aries for most of the month, you’re in a time in your personal calendar when you’re sorting through the deepest parts of yourself — your psyche, your hidden self, your fears. This time, every year, is when you’re prompted to do emotional inventory and shine a light on things that are normally kept private or out of the way. The Aries New Moon on April 5 gives you a nudge to tend to your emotional health, which could mean facing or navigating the hidden parts of yourself, especially any self destructive or self undoing behavior. With the energy of the new moon touching on Saturn in Capricorn as well as Mars in Gemini, it’s a month to take responsibility. (It’s also a month where you may be dealing with financial concerns as Aries is one of your money signs — wealth, taxes, debts, mortgages, benefits, estate planning.) Speaking of responsibility, with Mars in Gemini, the highest sign in your chart, it’s a month to focus on taking command of your life as well as taking action in career and professional endeavors. Whatever your ambitions are, whatever your goals, use Mars as motivation to push ahead. That said, home and family are just as important this month. With Jupiter turning retrograde on April 10, you’re halfway through a year long story focused on putting down roots and tending to your homebase. You may be moving or have moved at some point this year. Or, you’re looking to grow your family, whether this means new family members or new people coming to live with you. Then on April 19 a full moon puts the spotlight on Libra, your other money sign. You may have a decision to make about what you own, how you earn a living, or get your material needs met. Don’t be afraid to reach out to the generosity of others or open yourself up to partnership. Someone else’s wealth can benefit you as well. Lastly, Pluto and Saturn turn retrograde on April 24 and 29 respectively, and highlight a part of your chart that has to do with identity, creativity, and self expression. Both Saturn and Pluto are pressing on you to really examine who you are and how you honor your talents and share who you are. What’s in the way? Where are your fears getting the best of you? Where do you sabotage? Don’t be afraid to let go of the old you and don’t be afraid to share your talents, your creativity, your joy with the world. Want to learn more about how the astrology of April will affect you? Book your consultation now.

Key Themes: Relationships, other people, socialization, connection, partnerships, negotiation, compromise, sacrifice, healing, confusion, intimacy, trust, vulnerability, intuition, deep emotions, hidden self, the psyche, secrets, facing fears, money, income, salary, wealth, debt, taxes, resource, finance, estate, ownership, possessions, stability, security, the self, self expression, self destruction, shadow self, the ego, career, reputation, status, professional life, responsibilities, ambition.

Libra

September 23–October 22

Libra Glyph

Libra, it’s relationship season. After all, Aries is your relationship sign, the sign where you go to connect with others and find partnership. Aries is the Mars to Libra’s Venus. So, this is naturally a time when the spotlight is on the people that surround you, especially your primary relationships. The new moon on April 5 gives you a new beginning in this area of your life, a time when the page turns. If you’re single and seeking partnership, then you’re naturally motivated to connect this month. If you’re already in a relationship, this is a natural time for you to reassess the needs of your partner as well as the partnership. With the new moon’s aspects to Saturn in Capricorn, this may be a month of relationship milestones. Saturn speaks to commitment and balance, responsibility and structure. Is the relationship working or does it need to new commitment or new structure? Is the foundation strong? Even if you’re single, how do your interactions with others honor your emotional needs? That said, the energy of the new moon points to Mars in Gemini, your sign of philosophy, faith, and truth. Do you and a partner see eye-to-eye? Do your beliefs about relationship need to shift? Speaking of Mars, you may be traveling this month. Gemini is also your sign of foreign travel as well as long distance trips, so it’s quite possible that you’re on the go. If you can’t travel, Mars is also activating your curiosity as well as your desire to learn. It’s a month to explore, especially educational exploration, from classes and serious study to exploring the world through books and other means. Another thing to mention is that Venus, your ruling planet, is in Pisces, which means that you’re tending to your physical as well as spiritual health this month. Make sure you’re getting your check ups or taking time out of the busy hum of life to get quiet and still. Do exercise through gentle movements such as yoga, pilates, dancing, or swimming. Eat foods that make your body feel good. You’re in the spotlight this month. The Libra Full Moon on April 19 connects you to last month’s full moon on March 20 and the new beginnings it ushered in. On April 20, Venus moves into Aries and it’s a new season for you. It’s also the season to make relationship and connection with others a priority. Get out of the house. Meet people. Make new friends. Make connections with people that live far away or in other countries. Tend to relationships that are already a part of your life. It’s a time of renewal and renewed focus, a time when you need to compromise and tend to the needs of others. The Sun also moves into Taurus on April 20, meeting up with Uranus over the next couple of days and reminding you that you’re at the beginning of a seven year chapter where you need to have an emotional revolution. So the rest of April and into May is the perfect time to shine a light on some of the tenderest, intimate parts of your psyche. It’s time to sort through your fears, your resistances, and the things you’re stubbornly holding onto. Relationships and intimacy go hand in hand. It’s not enough to make connection, but you have to be vulnerable to open up to another person, especially if it’s a romantic connection. As you come to the end of April, both Pluto and Saturn are turning retrograde in Capricorn on April 24 and 29 respectively. Capricorn forms the bottom of your chart. It’s your foundation, your container, your home, and where you put down roots. You’re in a serious time of your life where you need to build foundation. You may have or maybe moving, making a purchase of a home, or even dealing with family responsibilities. Saturn Retrograde on April 29 will be a check in with this process. Pluto is merely showing all the deep emotional stuff that’s in the way and no longer is feeding and nurturing you. Don’t be afraid to let go this month. Scorpio

October 23–November 21

Scorpio Glyph

It’s hustle time, Scorpio. Aries Season means it’s the season to get organized, make a new plan, stick to a schedule, and create new projects. It’s also the season to focus on health and wellness, kicking off new fitness initiatives or taking action with a health concern. In short, it’s a season to work, especially come the new moon on April 5. See, the Sun is your career planet, and seeing how it’s in Aries for most of this month, you’re getting a motivational push to get down to business. Sure, we all have goals, and there’s nothing like a Scorpio that’s become laser focused on reaching for success, but we have to be organized and disciplined as a support to these goals. That said, Mars, both your ruler and the ruler of Aries, is in Gemini all month long, so you may feel pulled in a lot of different directions. Whereas Scorpio can fixedly focus on one thing, Mars in Gemini may make you feel overwhelmed with options and choices … hence needing some structure and organization this month. It’s not a bad thing to have options. Nor is it bad to have many new ideas. Just do your best to stay grounded and focused this month. Plus, you’re likely going to have a lot of energy this month, so it’s good to channel it through exercise like going for a walk or making a visit to the gym or even some power spring cleaning. That said, Gemini speaks to something deeper in your chart, it speaks to the choice that Scorpio has to make everyday between light and dark. You are the eighth sign of the zodiac, the two circles of the 8 marking the two worlds that you straddle as a Scorpio — the world of the living and the world of the non living, the world of the light and the world of the dark. Scorpio is a sign of great power, but it has to be used responsibly. You may have some deep choices to make this month — choices about the direction of your life, how you use your power, how you use your voice, and how you respect your darkness within as much as the light. Don’t get caught up in temptations and traps. See yourself for who you are. Reveal yourself. Perhaps this is a bit of an esoteric point, but between Mars in your eighth sign of Gemini this month and both Pluto and Saturn turning retrograde in your third sign of Capricorn on April 24 and 29 respectively, you may feel like a critical juncture this month. Do you make a left or a right? Choices, choices …. Another area of focus this month is money and finance. As much as Mars is sifting through deeper themes this month, Gemini is one of your money signs. And, as a result, you’re extra motivated to take care of your financial needs this month. Jupiter’s been in your other money sign of Sagittarius this year, so its retrograde turn on April 10 is a reminder that you have eight more months to take advantage of Jupiter’s abundance and new opportunities. (Although keep in mind that Jupiter is square Neptune this year, so, yes, there is a potential financial windfall for you this year, but your values have to line up with Neptune’s spiritual values. Choices, choices ….) Then on April 19 a full moon lights up Libra once again — there was a Libra Full Moon on March 20 — and you’re once again on the cusp of an ending as well as a new beginning. Think of the first half of April as straddling worlds, straddling lives. You’re wrapping up something and preparing for the new. You’re cleaning out. You’re letting go. When the Sun moves into Taurus on April 20, it’s a reminder that your life is changing in radical ways that aren’t quite clear. But one of the things we do know is changing is relationships. How you connect, interact, socialize, and even partner up is changing in big ways. The rest of April and into May will hopefully give more clarity and insight into this seven year journey you’re beginning courtesy of Uranus in Taurus. (Shameless plug for my April 6 webinar on Uranus in Taurus.) Also, want to learn more about how the astrology of April will affect you? Book your consultation now.

Key Themes: Work, projects, health, wellness, taking care of the body, diet, fitness, nutrition, organization, plans, schedule, routine, colleagues, new career initiatives, new projects, service, emotional health, the psyche, the deep self, the shadow, choices, light and dark, between worlds, between lives, endings, letting go, the old self, romance, play, relationships, other people, socializing, connection, partnerships, money, income, finance, wealth, debt, financial opportunities.

Sagittarius

November 22–December 21

Sagittarius Glyph

It’s time to play, Sagittarius. After all, Aries Season is your zodiac month to create and perform, have fun and share your talents. So be yourself this April. With Jupiter visiting Sagittarius all year long, you’re in a new 12 year chapter, one that is launching you on a new journey. Have confidence and faith that you have what it takes to go out there in the world, although Jupiter turns retrograde on April 10 and it’s a month to reflect on what faith and confidence means to you. Speaking of confidence, the Aries New Moon on April 5 encourages you to take initiative this month, especially anything helps you to put your talents and creativity in the spotlight. The Aries New Moon may also bring in romance as the energies of the new moon point towards Gemini, your relationship sign. As a result, you may start a new romance or love affair or meet someone who really understands you, especially once Mercury arrives in Aries on April 17. If anything, it’s a month to remember who you are, even when you’re in a partnership with someone else, romantic or otherwise. And with Mars in Gemini this month, there’s a lot of action happening between you and another person or other people. April has all the markings of a busy month, one that is pushing you to social and connect with people, to converse, chat, and have interesting and intellectual conversations. Mars isn’t shy and you shouldn’t be either. That said, Mars in this part of your chart isn’t known for its tact and if you’ve been struggling with a relationship issue, Mars may push things to the forefront this month. It’s not just your one-on-one relationships getting highlighted this month. A Libra Full Moon on April 19 puts the spotlight on friendships and community. In fact, this is the second Libra Full Moon in a series that began on March 20. That full moon was a new beginning while this full moon speaks to lessons learned and the wisdom that comes from experience. For as much as April is about you and the freedom to express who you are, it’s also about how you find your allies, your group, the people that support who you are. It’s social connection and social network. It’s the people that aren’t family, but feel like it. That said, it’s not all play this month. Both Pluto and Saturn turn retrograde on April 24 and 29 in Capricorn, your sign of money and material stability. Do know that Saturn’s been on you the past year or so to get your financial life in order and define what you really value. April will be a check-in with your progress of rebuilding and restructuring your wallet as well as your material life, especially all the changes you’ve made since 2008. Are you ready for Saturn’s critical eye? Are you doing what you can to create a stable foundation for your life? The later part of April is also Taurus Season and you’re also checking in with the radical changes that have been happening or need to happen in how you go about your daily life. Your scheduling may be changing a lot this month. Your work is different. It’s also a time to take care of your body in different ways or change your diet. Capricorn

December 22–January 19

Capricorn Glyph

This is a critical year for you, Capricorn — critical in terms of growth, the decisions you’re making, and the direction you’re headed in. With Saturn, your ruling planet, in Capricorn until the end of 2020, you halfway through a chapter in your life where it’s about growing up and getting older. (I know, fun!) I mention all of this because Saturn turns retrograde on April 29, which means that this month is a checkup on your progress. You may be feeling the weight of time or a pressure to step up your game. Plus Saturn is turning retrograde just shy of Pluto and the South Node of the Moon. Translation? This is the month where you have to get out of your own way, where you have to let go of worst parts of yourself so you can move forward. Something has to give, Capricorn. Be very real with yourself this month, which includes looking at your fears and instincts, the ones that sabotage. Perhaps this is a heavy read, but it’s real talk and if there’s a sign that can appreciate a sobering reality check, it’s yours. That said, it’s Aries Season, which means it’s the season to nest, to spend time at home, and focus on family. The Aries New Moon on April 5 gives you a new beginning in this department. And, as a result, you may be looking to move this month or make a change in your living situation. Further, the energy of the new moon points towards your sign of organization and projects, health and wellness. It’s a perfect month to clean your home and clear out clutter … or pack up and move, especially after Mercury arrives in Aries on April 17. It’s also a month to month to get healthy. Mars is giving you motivation to go back to the gym, make new choices in diet, or get your checkups. Make sure you’re taking care of your emotional health as much as your physical health. That said, it’s a busy month, one where you may be working a lot. The full moon on April 19 puts the spotlight on career and directly ties back to the full moon last month on March 20. Whereas last month’s full moon started a story or initiated a change or decision in your professional life, the full moon this month may bring a sense of resolution or need to tie up loose ends in your career. Nevertheless you’re at a crossroads this month, one where you’re going to have to face yourself in order to move forward. Remember, the North Node of the Moon is in Cancer this year and Cancer is your relationship sign. You can’t go it alone anymore. You have to learn to compromise, negotiate, and find balance. You’re going to have to let people in. You have to have faith. Want to learn more about how the astrology of April will affect you? Book your consultation now.

Aquarius

January 20–February 18

Aquarius Glyph

Aquarius, you’re about halfway through a three year chapter of your life where you’re going behind the scenes, pulling back, and digging into your blind spots. It’s a reflective time, one meant more about rest and casting off the old than about moving forward. Maybe you’re contemplating deeper existential questions or looking towards spirituality to help give answer and meaning to this phase of your life. I mention this because Saturn, your ruling planet, turns retrograde this month and for as much as you’ve been prompted to pull back from the world over the last sixteen months, it’s been a time where you’ve had to explore the hidden parts of yourself — your shadow, your fears, the parts so removed from your consciousness that it shows up in dreams. So if you’re feeling like things are a little more emotionally heavy than usual this month, just know that it’s time to sift through some deep stuff. Since it’s Aries Season, know that this is also a time when you’re connecting with language as well as your voice. Pay attention to what you are thinking and saying, especially around the Aries New Moon on April 5, because it may be giving you insight into something you’re not seeing about yourself. That said, the new moon also puts an emphasis on education and travel this month. As a result, you may be taking classes, going to workshops, and reading up on different subjects. It’s also a time when it’s important to express yourself and if you have a talent for writing, singing, or speaking, then definitely use April to open doors and to initiate something new, especially after Mercury arrives in Aries on April 17. Additionally you may be on the go this month, going from appointments to appointments, fielding calls or messages, and setting off on trips. The full moon on April 19 in particular puts the spotlight on long distance journeys, the kind that take you to foreign countries or destinations far away. So, where do you want to go? You may also be dealing with a question of faith and meaning. The full moon brings to a close a story that began around the last full moon on March 20. What have you learned? What have you decided? On April 20 the Sun arrives in Taurus and, two days later on April 22, meets up with Uranus. Remember, you’re in the beginning of a seven year story where you’re reinventing what home, family, roots, and emotional connection mean to you. Something has been shaking up over the past few months, something that gets to the very core of your life. Maybe you’ve already moved. Maybe you’re looking to make a move. Maybe something needs to radically change in your relationship with your family. This month gives you further insight. Pisces

February 19–March 20

Pisces Glyph

Jupiter is your ruling planet and like the prow of a great ship, it pulls you forward each year through a different sign to explore. This year, Jupiter is in Sagittarius, which means that you’re sailing through the highest reaches of your chart and pushing out into the world. 2019 is a year for you to focus on career, your responsibilities, and to opening up new professional doors. But with Jupiter in aspect to Neptune all year long, whatever you’re doing in the world, your heart and soul has to be behind it as well otherwise it feels empty. When Jupiter turns retrograde on April 10, you’re starting a four month review and integration of all you’ve learned and initiated since November 2018, when Jupiter first entered Sagittarius, your career sign. (Jupiter will turn direct on August 11 and enter Capricorn on December 2.) That said, April is Aries Season, the sign that motivates you to make money, earn a living, and get what your financial needs taken care of. With the Aries New Moon on April 5, you entering a four week period of prioritizing your wallet as well as potentially accumulating more stuff. You may be making purchases for the home this month or gathering resources that help you feel more anchored in life. There’s also a focus on value and worth, as well, so whatever you’re buying, ask yourself, is it worth it? Speaking of the home, Mars is in your home and family sign of Gemini all month, the sign that forms the foundation of your chart. As a result, there a lot going on in the home in April and it may even be a bit noisy. (Mars is hardly ever quiet.) People may be coming and going. You may be making changes in the home. Or, you may even be looking to make a move. For as much as Aries Season is about feeling safe and secure, as if there is solid ground beneath your feet, the full moon on April 19 puts the deepest parts of you in the spotlight. Keep in mind that this full moon is part of a pair with the other occurring on March 20. They are two ends of a story, one that centered on vulnerability, intimacy, facing your fears, and jumping into the unknown. The full moon last month was more initiatory while this full moon, the one on April 19, ties up loose ends and helps you to learn a lesson after spending a few weeks shifting through your shadow, your psyche. Lastly it’s important to mention that Saturn is in your sign of community and friendships all year long and into the end of 2020. And if you’re learning lessons this month about emotional intimacy and vulnerability then you are also learning lessons around social connection and belonging. Saturn turns retrograde in Capricorn on April 29 just after Pluto turns retrograde on April 24. There’s something for you to learn and discover about the people you’ve surrounded yourself with our have attracted into your life. Are they there for you? Do you feel supported? Do you have community? Saturn is the builder of the planets. Pluto tears things down. In fact, Pluto’s been tearing its way through Capricorn since 2008, which means that community and a friendships is an area that has had a lot of transformation over the last ten years. One of the lessons in all of this, especially in the astrology of this year, is that you have to be you. Don’t get lost in the crowd. Don’t change yourself to fit in.
