Saturn is about to turn direct in Aquarius, its last change of direction in the sign for another thirty years. It’s a weekend to build, anchor, and commit, especially around friendship and community. But Saturn squares Uranus. We may be in for a jolt or awakening.
With that in mind, we’ve got some big-deal astrology to talk about. Saturn only changes direction twice a year. And its movements form structural points where life takes shape. Major events can coincide with the change of direction, events that feel weighted with responsibility and duty. Keep this in mind as Saturn turns direct on October 23 at 18 degrees Aquarius.
For as much as Saturn is painted negatively in astrology as the planet of limitations and lessons, it’s also the planet of manifestation and reveals moments in time where we’re bringing things into reality. (Watch the introduction to my Facing Saturn webinar.)
All we have to do is look back at Saturn’s movements through Aquarius going back to 2020 … it turned retrograde on June 4, 2022; direct on October 10, 2021; retrograde on May 23, 2021; reentered the sign on December 17, 2020; and retrograde May 11, 2020.
Then there’s Saturn square Uranus in Taurus. If Saturn is shape and form, then Uranus wants us to break free of anything that’s holding us back. One of the things that we saw with Saturn square Uranus in 2021 was that things that we thought were rock solid were suddenly not so rock solid anymore.
Just after Saturn turns direct, Venus and the Sun arrive in Scorpio, kicking off a new season and bringing the official start to eclipse season. We’re mere days away from a solar eclipse in Scorpio. Life bends in a new direction.
