Mercury, in its rewind through Sagittarius, meets up with Mars. It’s a day for spirited conversations. We feel a need to express our convictions. But with Mercury Retrograde, we need to be careful that we are not judging without first thinking.
The other day an argument broke out between two people on a group chat that I am a part of. Not that the argument came out of nowhere, but the suddenness in which it erupted and the emotional intensity of the exchange unsettled me. To get an idea of what was going on astrologically, I opened an app to see the chart of the moment.
Sure enough, the Moon had just gone into Gemini, a sign that rules Mercury and communication. Where did we find Mercury on that day? Next to Mars in Sagittarius and opposite Uranus in Gemini. Tempers suddenly flared.
I mention this because Mercury and Mars are together again. While the Moon isn’t in Gemini, it will be in Virgo later today, a sign that is also Mercury ruled. This means that we need to have better discernment, to not rush to conclusions or judgements, to be precise and organized in our thinking. All to avoid any Mercury-Mars in Sagittarius gaffes or verbal blunders.
One of the roles of Mercury Retrograde is to help us to gain a different perspective and, perhaps, to see things from the eyes of others.
