Jupiter turns retrograde at 25 Cancer, another shift in the sky that builds upon both Mercury Retrograde and Uranus’s recent return to Taurus. Retrogrades are a call to look inward, to connect with the feminine, to review the past in order to integrate our experiences.
From a classical perspective, Jupiter finds its “exaltation” in Cancer, which is a way of saying that Jupiter is able to best express itself in Cancer, the sign of home and family, of the mother, emotional support, nurturing, and care.
Jupiter is always a planet that, at its core, inspires us to want more out of life. To want more out of Cancer through Jupiter’s time in Cancer (July 2025 to June 2026) is to want more out of some of the most fundamental energies and experiences of life — connection, support, care.
It’s not just want. Jupiter gives us the opportunity to really bring in these energies of Cancer, to have stronger emotional support, to grow familial connections, to discover what a greater amount of care can feel like in our lives.
As Jupiter turns retrograde, it pulls upon Mercury’s recent retrograde change at 6 Sagittarius. In order to be open to Jupiter’s full potential, we need to not only make different choices or have different, but be open to seeing our lives very differently. (Example: Not feeling worthy of being cared for and nurtured lends itself to a change in how we see ourselves that allows a renewed experience with Jupiter in Cancer.)
And as Jupiter turns retrograde, it activates support from Saturn and Neptune in Pisces as well as the Scorpio Sun. We must open our hearts to receive the energy of what we need in order to thrive.
Jupiter will turn direct on March 10, 2026 at 15 Cancer.
