Here we are, on the verge of a new astrological year. The Sun moves from Pisces to Aries today, signaling the start of spring here in the northern hemisphere. It’s a rush of new energy, a new cycle and journey to bring us throughout the year. Plant your seeds.
If Pisces is the omega, the end of a long symbolic journey through each zodiac sign and the lessons they impart, then Aries is the alpha, the rebirth of life. It reminds us that life, for all its ups and downs, is cyclical and we always have an opportunity to start over.
Despite our instinct to move forward, we’re in the last hours of the lunar month. We’re still dreaming and pulling inward. Tomorrow’s Aries New Moon is the real start of the season, a time to capitalize on Mars in Gemini and all the options and potentials we’ve been trying out since August.
While the start of Aries is a seasonal transition point, we have other major transitions happening this week. The first is Pluto in Aquarius. It can’t be underestimated that this will have over the coming days, weeks, and years.
Pluto moves so slowly that its arrival in a new astrological sign marks a new era, one that can unfold over decades. Pluto’s time in Capricorn, since 2008, has been relatively short, but its impact has been massive, whether through world changes in 2008-2009 that paralleled its arrival to the intense changes from 2010-2015 that coincided with the Uranus-Pluto square. The Capricorn area of our astrology likely looks nothing like it did in 2008. (Read Pluto in Capricorn: Sign by Sign.)
So, when Pluto arrives in Aquarius on March 23, we need to start paying attention. These are the early clues to a story that will unfold over the next two decades. In fact, the last time Pluto was in Aquarius was from the 1780s and 1790s.
To get you all ready for Pluto in Aquarius, I’m doing a two-hour webinar on March 29 at 8pm ET. Replay available for those who cannot join live. In it, I’m going over what Pluto means, its role as an evolutionary force of transformation, and how it may unfold for you, sign by sign. Learn more and register.
Finally, Mars changes signs this week, a welcome change after Mars’s seven month time in Gemini. Arriving in Cancer on March 25, we get a punch of new energy for our Aries Season, one that is driven by the heart rather than Gemini’s wandering curiosity.
You can get an overview of this week’s astrology for March 20-26, 2023 in my Facebook Live today at 6pm ET. Watch the replay on YouTube, Instagram, and Spotify.
