We start the week in the midst of some major aspects, which include yesterday’s challenging square between Mars and Uranus. There’s an electricity in the air. With the Moon in Pisces, we also dial into Jupiter square Saturn, a push to forge new structures.
Over the last year, Jupiter has squared Saturn, an aspect that has played out in the skies. We don’t often register the effects of Jupiter and Saturn in our daily lives since they govern the broader framework that our lives fit within, but when we look back, especially over the previous 10-12 months, perhaps there has been a tension.
Square energy, which is a 90 degree angle between two planets, is the energy of manifestation. Meaning, something wants to manifest physically in our lives. Squares often push us to take action or work to resolve a problem. Squares do the heavy lifting in astrology. And as a result, so do we.
Up until recently, the square was between Jupiter in Gemini and Saturn in Pisces, translating as a square that asked heavy existential questions and demanded that we reevaluate our choices. If we are a Gemini, Pisces, or even a Virgo or a Sagittarius, the last year has been a bit of a grind.
Now the square — albeit the final square — is between Jupiter in Cancer and Saturn in Aries. The square is no longer existential or theoretical or a matter of faith. It’s a reality. As a result, we need to take concrete actions this week and invest in our future and our ambitions. There may be some growing pains.
In other news, after the better part of six months, Mars is at the end of Leo and ready to move on to Virgo tomorrow. At the heart of Mars’s long journey (and retrograde) was a need to get back to our passion and the facets of life that light us up and give us joy. How did we do? Mars in Virgo will put us to work.
