The Astrology of January 7, 2026

Venus meets up with Mars in Capricorn, an ignition for our new year, one that not only wants to strategize, but take action towards its desires and ambitions. With Saturn in Pisces, we continue to search for the balance between the practical and matters of the heart.

We may be in the New Year, but in many ways we are still winding down a larger cycle of time that will take us into February and March. There’s Saturn’s arrival in Aries on February 13 to look forward to, a personal and collective shift in priorities, and the astrological New Year on March 20 when the Sun arrives in Aries. (Plus the arrival of Mars in Aries on April 9, activating Saturn, the Sun, and Neptune in Aries.)

In the meantime, we’re in a transitional space, a space of endings and culminations. And, yet, Mars and Jupiter in Cancer turn up the tension in advance of their opposition on January 10, two planets that pull on the pillars of our lives.

Something may have to give this week.
