Mars, now in Taurus, wants us to find the safety and security of solid ground. We crave feeling of the earth beneath our feet, We’re motivated to create new structures to allow life to flourish and grow.
That said, we may be feeling a little rattled after Mars in Aries’s last gasp of violence and instability before changing signs. (Mars arrived in Taurus yesterday, January 6, at 5:26 pm EST.) If so, take time to connect to your body. Move slow. Use gentle touch. Taurus is a sign that gets us back to basics of life.
When I wrote the introduction to my January video horoscopes, I said that this month had some bumpy astrology. Mars is now in Taurus, but it activates a story that will be with us off and on throughout 2021, this tension between the old and the new — Saturn in Aquarius square Uranus in Taurus. And at the heart of this square is a demand for new sight, new vision, and new consciousness that must integrate into the fabric of society. The days around January 13, 17, and 20 are ones where we may see this demand come to a head.
One of the cornerstones of Saturn is the need balance, harmony, and equity. In Aquarius, this has to be applied at the level of society and humanity. Saturn by its very nature (in its positive expression) wants things balanced so that life can flow. When things are not in balance or not equitable, life cannot flow. Things are then restrictive, unequal, and inharmonious.
So, in order for life to flow over the next two years, the systems, networks, and communities in our lives need equity and balance. We have to take awareness of where we are creating disharmony and inequity. We have to understand one another and find unity. We have to change the system. Saturn in Aquarius square Uranus in Taurus.
Note that Saturn was last in Aquarius February 1991-January 1994; January 1962-March 1964.
