Sparks fly as the Sun and Uranus square off, energies that can quickly illuminate as much as they can shake things up. In advance of this weekend’s full moon, we’re feeling restless, ready to break out of old patterns, ready to reinvent ourselves.

There’s a lot of astrology over the next few days. So, let’s break things down.

Ever since May 2018 and March 2019, Uranus has been in Taurus. If Uranus is the great awakener, an evolutionary planet whose role is to shake up the status quo, then its time in Taurus has been about shaking our relationship with the fundamentals of life — money, resources, food, stability, security, what we own, and what we value.

Taurus makes up what are called the “fixed signs”, the four signs — Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius — in astrology that rule over matter and our material lives. Which is to say, our physical reality has shifted greatly in the last few years. Nothing may look the same.

Even if you’re not a Taurus, you have Taurus somewhere in your astrology. And that area likely looks remarkably different than it did in 2018. For some, it’s not a physical shift, but an emotional, internal, or spiritual shift. Read more in Uranus in Taurus: Sign by Sign.

Days like these are times when we get a bump of the energy. Things may be shaking up this week as a result, especially because the square between the Sun and Uranus will be energized by the Leo Full Moon on February 5.

Full moons are activators. In the case of the Leo Full Moon, it puts a spotlight on a process of transformation that’s been in play over the past few years. If Leo is about identity and being true to who we are, then the kick of Uranus demands that we break out of the false self, liberate the negative ego, or destructive characteristics.

The full moon this weekend also activates the Lunar Nodes and the eclipses that opened up a new chapter with a Scorpio solar eclipse on October 25 and a Taurus lunar eclipse on November 8, 2022. As a result, we’re at the midpoint of the eclipses — three months out from the eclipses of October-November and the eclipses to come in April-May, 2023. The midpoint of the eclipses is a powerful transition point where events can change our lives. The full moon on February 5 isn’t an eclipse, but it has the power to act like one.

Pay attention to who or what is coming in and out of our lives, what is rising up or down. And pay attention to how events from this week link to October-November or even April-May 2022.

It’s all part of the great wheel of time.

Just a reminder, Saturn arrives in Pisces on March 7, a sign it has not been in since 1994-1996.
