Welcome to Capricorn Season! The Sun crosses into the 10th sign of the zodiac and marks the winter solstice. It’s the longest night of the year here in the northern hemisphere and we celebrate the return of the light. It’s a season to build and reach for our goals.
Like Sagittarius, the preceding sign, Capricorn brings us out into the world as we navigate the last four signs of the zodiac that govern not over the personal, but the experience that shape and mold us in the world. For this, Capricorn is the sign of duty and responsibility, maturity and success, career and professional roles.
But Capricorn is also ruled by Saturn and it’s here we meet the sometimes hard realities of life. It’s no wonder that we arrive at the new year thinking of the ways to step things up, make structural changes, and reach for goals and aspirations in the months ahead.
If you recall, Saturn’s been in Aquarius since 2020. While Saturn’s at home in Aquarius, it’s been a serious look at our relationship with community, social connection, and humanitarian themes. We’ve seen changes in friendships since then. Our whole social network has shifted. We think about the world in different ways.
Saturn’s nearing the end of its time in Aquarius, a sign that it won’t return to for another 30 years. Come March, Saturn will arrive in Pisces and begin a new collective and personal work.
