Welcome to the Cancer New Moon. It’s not only the solstice and the start of a new season, but it’s a solar eclipse, too, a time of supercharged new beginnings. The great stage of our lives rearrange. New characters and set pieces come in. Others leave.
We’re in the dark of the moon as we go into the weekend, a quiet time to retreat, reflect, and shed anything from the past. But we’re also on the doorstep of a Cancer New Moon on June 21, a solar eclipse that will be a powerful portal to the second half of 2020.
Another Taurus Moon day and we continue to wind down the lunar month. We’re moving more slowly. We’re continuing to weigh our options. On the cusp of a lunar eclipse, we may feel the energies of change beginning to shift the tectonic plates of our lives.
As we open up a new chapter courtesy of the June 5 lunar eclipse, we’re beginning to close another that began in July 2018 with this week’s solar eclipse in Cancer on June 21, right on the solstice, the punctuation at the end of a two year sentence.
Gemini Season, with its love of ideas and information, its need to gather and explore, is about choice. It’s the sign of duality … the twins. It’s a left or a right. An up or a down.
The Moon rounds out its time in Cancer, picking up on an emotionally intense aspect to Pluto before going into a time out. We could use the time out, actually. Eclipse energy is heavy business, taking a toll psychically and physically. Rest up while you can.

On July 4 we started a caustic lunar month that promised to show us our fears, the parts of ourselves that we’d rather not look at. Falling opposite Pluto, the new moon said that over the coming four weeks we’d be doing a lot of soul searching.
