Welcome to the Pisces New Moon, a moon that brings us to the end of the zodiac. Over the next four weeks, we navigate a sign designed to get us to reflect, go inward, and leave behind the earthly plane. It’s a spiritual sign in search of meaning and substance. The new moon is exact on March 10, 2024, 5:00 am EDT, 20 degrees Pisces. That’s 2:00 am Los Angeles, 9:00 am London, 11:00 am Johannesburg, 2:30 pm New Delhi, 8:00 pm Sydney, and 10:00 pm Auckland.
New moons are new beginnings. They open a new energetic space of time filled with the energies and archetypes of the sign. Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac. The omega to Aries, the first sign of the zodiac’s alpha. As a result, we’re in a liminal space that brings us to symbolic endings. It pulls back the veil between what we can touch and know objectively and what is subtle and unknown.
Ruled by Jupiter, Pisces is a sign searching for answers. Having exhausted searching the world, we now turn inward. This a new moon to meditate, pay attention to our dreams, and listen for quiet signs from our higher self and the spirit world beyond.
While this Pisces New Moon is not an eclipse, it does open a lunar month punctuated by a Libra Full Moon lunar eclipse on March 25. Which is to say, we’re in an arc of time that will bring us to a quickening as well as a turning point. Eclipses arrive every six months to strike a new hour, opening doors and often swiftly closing them in the process. In the coming days we will start to see movement and notable events. In the chart of the new moon we find Pisces crowded with not only the Sun and Moon, but Neptune and Saturn as well — two planets that speak to earth and heaven, what we can see and what we can’t see. We may feel like we’re reaching for solid ground.
Curiously, we have Jupiter in Taurus to give us an anchor. As ethereal and non corporal as Pisces can be, this is a new moon to make sure our material lives are tended to. Taurus is money and income. It’s shelter as well as the comforts of earthly life.
In short, we’re in a space of preparation. Something new is coming in. Whatever it is, Jupiter in Taurus is helping us to plant seeds. But, with Saturn in Pisces, we need to clear a path.
