This is a transcription of the following video for Sagittarius in January 2021.

Sagittarius

November 22–December 21

Sagittarius Glyph

Happy New Year! You survived 2020. It was difficult with your planet, Jupiter, being in a bit of a tight spot with Saturn and Pluto, but it’s moved on. You’re in a new year-long chapter. Jupiter’s now in Aquarius for the next 12 months, minus a few months when Jupiter will dip into Pisces from May until July. Aquarius is a sign for you that’s about voice, what you believe in, your mind and ideology, humanity, collective, social connection. Aquarius is an air sign, so you need to connect, to speak, and do things. This is the part of your astrology chart that talks about speaking and listening—the mind—you’re going to be very curious over the next 12 months. You’re going to be taking classes; you’re going to be writing; maybe you’re actually giving the class because Sagittariuses are natural teachers.

Saturn is also in Aquarius. Jupiter and Saturn had their big meetup—the great conjunction—on December 21, the same day as the solstice. You are in a powerful new time, a time where you can’t just say anything. Sagittarius has a bit of a reputation for off the cuff remarks, but Saturn is in the room, so this is a time where you have to be very mindful of what you’re saying. You have to be the authority; everything you think or say has to have maturity to it. If you are starting a manuscript or doing more speaking engagements or if you’re doing more teaching, how do you take that next step up in your personal development?

January’s astrology is not easy astrology. It’s going to push some buttons. You’re in a very different camp than some of the other Zodiac signs. Overall, this is a month that’s creating some friction between the old and the new. For you, it’s going to focus on the mind and how you organize your day-to-day life. How do you take care of your body? How do you create systems and networks? Maybe there’s a lot of like movement and rearrangement that’s happening in 2021 for you.

Sagittarius, you are coming off of eclipse season. There were eclipses on November 30 and December 14. November 30 had a lunar eclipse in Gemini which was about relationships for you. But December 14 was a solar eclipse in Sagittarius and if you had a birthday around that day, it’s going to be a powerful new year for you of change and new beginnings. Even though that was last month, that energy is still coming with you into January. There’s going to be points where the energy of the eclipses is going to be activated. It probably won’t be for a couple of months, but sometimes the eclipses take time to really make themselves known. Pay attention to relationships—all relationships. How you connect to people; romantic relationships; non-romantic relationships. It’s a time of new people coming in.

The South Node is in Sagittarius right now, which means it’s less about what you want and more about what other people want. Maybe you think you can do it all, but you need help. You need other people. Don’t forget to ask for help, to reach out, and to network as you go through some bumpy astrology this month.

Mars was in Aries, your sign of creativity, self-expression, and passion, since the end of June. Usually Mars in only in a sign for six weeks, but it was in Aries for six months due to retrograde. When Mars goes into Taurus on January 6, it’s going to feel like a breath of fresh air.

For you, Taurus is about work. It’s about projects, but it’s also about your relationship with your body: making changes in your diet, fitness, and day-to-day life. That part of your astrology has had a lot going on the past two years. Go back to May 2018/March 2019, because those were the months when Uranus walked into this sign. Since then, you’ve been in a seven-year period where you have to have a radically different relationship with your body, with work, with day-to-day life. Uranus is trying to get you out of your way. Then here comes Mars, so whatever story that began in 2018-2019 now kicks into gear. If you’ve been trying to make changes in those areas of your life, Mars is going to help. Of course, it’s the start of the new year and this is normally the time when we’re thinking about making positive changes in our physical life anyway.

Mars is going to make what’s called a square to Saturn on January 13 and this is some pretty intense energy. It’s asking you to see things differently, to assess how you’ve been educated about certain things. Maybe your beliefs, how you think your day has to run, or how you take care of your body—maybe you’re sort of stuck in one gear, and Uranus is trying to get you into a very different gear.

On January 14, Uranus is going to turn direct. It’s been retrograde since August. With Uranus direct, you might see another milestone in this story that’s been happening since May 2018/March 2019. It could be a change in your physical life: your routine, the structure of your day-to-day life; making sure you eat your vegetables, brush your teeth, take your vitamins.

The day before, on January 13, there’s going to be a Capricorn New Moon. Capricorn is a part of your chart that saw a lot of focus in 2018 and 2019 and 2020. Capricorn is one of your money signs and this new moon is going to be in the same place in the sky as Pluto. Pluto has been in Capricorn since January 2008. There has been some bigger story around money, material stability, material worth, and self-worth that has been happening since then. This new moon is the next chapter in this story.

Pay attention to what’s happening with your money stories, the powerful changes that you need to make around money. With Pluto in this part of the chart, you’ve probably seen a lot of big changes already. It’s really trying to find your power, your value, your worth, or a very different relationship with your material needs. Maybe you’re taking some new powerful initiatives in the financial department—saving more, organizing, and clearing things. Maybe the last 13 years have been about creating wealth. How do you set some powerful financial goals going into 2021? You might need to shift in how you see things. You might need new education. Maybe you’re taking classes on financial literacy or something that’s going to help you get a foothold into 2021. I know that money is big theme for a lot of people right now; I know 2020 has been difficult for people. Maybe this is a positive influence in your life.

Mars and Uranus meet up on January 20, so pay attention to that. There’s going to be a lot of dynamic astrology that’s happening in January 2021 in particular, but also throughout 2021. There’s something new that’s trying to come in. That Mars/Uranus conjunction on January 20 might speak to that more. By then, the Sun is in Aquarius. The Sun is meeting up with Saturn on January 23, the first time they’ve been conjunct in Aquarius since the 90s. That story is going to give you a lens to what’s happening with writing, speaking, communication, learning, thinking, and travel while Saturn is in Aquarius until March 2023. Maybe you’re starting a book or trying to get your voice out there. Maybe you’re trying to promote your philosophy or promote how you see things.

There is a Leo Full Moon on January 28 that highlights the part of your chart that talks about faith and truth and meaning and belief. Normally I would say this is a time of long-distance trips, but I realize we’re not doing a lot of foreign travel right now. Maybe you need to see things differently; maybe you need to look out there into the world or connect to the world in a much different way. That full moon is going to activate a lot of this friction in the sky that’s happening in January 2021.

Pay attention to the themes in the stories that are happening because they are opening to something that you’re going to work through for the rest of 2021. The irony is that it’s not an unfamiliar story; it’s just been these two parallel stories that were happening 2018 and 2019 and 2020 that come to a head 2021. I have a personal theory that 2020 was the year that needed to clear a lot of new space, but now you’ve got new space. Sagittarius, I know you’re optimistic; you love a challenge; you want to go out there in the world and find something to fill this new space. Nevertheless, you’ve got space to fill this month. You’ve got to reorganize some things, rearrange your day-to-day life, to make more space.
