Welcome to the Gemini Full Moon, the time in the lunar calendar when the spotlight is on voice and communication, thinking and learning, curiosity and discovery, movement and travel. Gemini teaches us about the duality of life as well as the power of choice. The full moon is exact on December 4, 2025 at 6:14 pm ET, 13 degrees of Gemini-Sagittarius. That’s 3:14 pm Los Angeles, 11:14 pm London, 1:14 am Johannesburg on December 5, 4:44 am New Delhi, 10:14 am Sydney, and 12:14 pm Auckland.
Full moons are decision points. They highlight an ongoing matter and bring it to a head. They mark events and even achievement and recognition. They act as a counter to the new moon two weeks before and the second half of the story.
To understand Gemini, all we have to do is look out into the world and see all its colors, its diversity, its different landscapes and terrains. Creation comes alive through Gemini, taking the fertility of Taurus and spreading the seeds of life across the globe, if not the universe.
There’s a lot going on with this full moon, which we would expect with a Gemini Full Moon, a sign that can sometimes be a lot.
Let’s start with the Scorpio New Moon two weeks before. The new moon set the stage for our experiences over a four week period. The full moon marks a time when the story has reached a peak. If a Scorpio New Moon is about intimacy and vulnerability, transformation and rebirth, then the Gemini Full Moon may be a time when there is a revealing conversation, one that gets at an emotional core. Or, in order to make the necessary transformations that Scorpio highlighted, we need to make a powerful decision with Gemini.
On paper, Scorpio and Gemini don’t seem to have a lot in common. Gemini tends to be light and breezy. Scorpio, on the other hand, goes deep. In reality they have more in common than we realize. Scorpio is the 8th sign of the zodiac, representing the ultimate duality of the universe — light and dark. Gemini is Scorpio’s 8th sign, which reveals the power of choice and how our choices can either be for light or for dark, for conscious or unconscious.
This may be an esoteric point or even a deeply philosophical point, but it’s one that is at the heart of this full moon. How aware are we of the choices we make? For example, this includes the people that we bring into our lives. Or, the information that we consume.
With Mercury in Scorpio, having recently turned direct, this is a full moon for revelations and discoveries made by shining a light on the dark, bringing consciousness to where there was unconsciousness. We may realize a hidden motive. A secret may unravel. Mercury is opposite Uranus in Taurus. Ideas may challenge, awaken, or transform.
This full moon comes three months after a lunar eclipse on September 7, tying a thread to events from that time. (The Sagittarius New Moon on December 19 will do the same for the solar eclipse from September 21.) The three month point after an eclipse is often a powerful crossroads; the Sun squares the Lunar Nodes. We often see eclipse-like events at this time. Doors open and close. Events change the narrative. We can also see events that pre-sage the eclipses to come in three months’ time. (The next eclipses will be February 17 and March 3, 2026.)
So, with this full moon squaring the Lunar Nodes and the eclipse degrees, this week and next may be pivotal, especially for those who are mutable signs — Gemini, Sagittarius, Pisces, Virgo.
Mars in Sagittarius also squares Saturn in Pisces, an important aspect that will be exact on December 9 at 25 degrees. There is the possibility of confrontation around the full moon, which includes a demand to make new choices, to seek new accountability, and to take a different course. Take note of the Mercury-Uranus opposition on December 10. If something does shake up in our lives, we have support to create different structures, ones that may be more aligned with our values.
Finally, we should take time to observe the themes that come up around this full moon, however subtle. Come next April, Uranus will return to Gemini, a sign it will be in for the next six years. Uranus is the planet of awakenings and reinventions. Depending on our astrology, Gemini plays a key role. That area will begin to see larger changes starting in 2026.
