Happy Scorpio Full Moon! This is the time of the year when we shine a light into the dark. Scorpio isn’t for the feint of heart, encompassing the uncomfortable and all too real side of the human experience. For that, Scorpio is emotional intimacy, psychology, sexuality, power, legacies, security, death and rebirth. The full moon will be exact on April 22, 2016 at 1:24 am EDT, 2 degrees Scorpio/Taurus. For those further afield, that’s 10:24 pm Los Angeles on April 21, 6:24 am London, 3:24 pm Sydney on April 22.
By now we’re all too familiar with Scorpio. Was it only last year that we wrapped up Saturn in Scorpio, a two and a half year master class in life’s darker shades? We know what raw feels like. We know what it means to reveal ourselves as much as we know how to hide. We know that life is incredibly short. So, what does it mean to have a full moon in Scorpio?
Full moon are decisions, a turning point, and a time when we see things for what they really are. Full moons are in our faces. There’s a crisis. And with the full moon in Scorpio there is no pretense; whatever decision we’re making we’re seeing it from every angle. As a result we may be dealing with themes of trust and openness as well as secrets and betrayal. Scorpio is money and wealth, too. We may have a decision to make about a loan, shared financial resources, debt, estates, and taxes.
A couple things to note. We have to be in consciousness that there a high and low side to Scorpio. How are we using Scorpio’s honesty? Its power? Its penchant for life and death situations? Are we manipulating or are we empowering? How are we using our magic? Are we destroying or rebirthing? Are we using our sexuality in destructive ways or to be fully open and vulnerable with a partner?
The other thing is that Mars, the ruler of the full moon, just turned retrograde in Sagittarius. The full moon will dig on karmic themes of faith and belief. Mars is in a long square with Neptune. How do we purify our negative beliefs around money, power, sexuality? How do we surrender to a force higher than ourselves? How do we align our will with divine will? Pluto just stationed retrograde, too. What uncomfortable parts of ourselves are we seeing? What do we need to let go of?
