Today’s Moon in Sagittarius picks up on the growing tension between Jupiter and Uranus. Facing off at opposite ends, we may have something uncomfortable to own up to — a truth, a belief. How we see the world may be shaking, opening us up to new ways of thinking.
That’s the thing about Uranus. It’s the planet of consciousness, awakenings, and evolution. Like mythical Prometheus, it’s a spark of light in the dark. If Jupiter is the planet that teaches us about the world beyond our four walls, helping us to explore philosophy, religion, and other cultures, then Uranus forces an issue. Is our truth really true? Is our faith enough? Do we need to open up to seeing the world in a different way? And, because Jupiter is in Libra and Uranus in Aries, many of these questions boil down to relationships and how we treat one another.
To make an intermediate astrology point, I like to call Uranus oppositions the “coming out” aspect. Meaning, there is a overwhelmingly restless need to reveal yourself in some way when you experience a Uranus opposition. You can no longer be held back by convention, limitations, or boundaries. This week we may be seeing people do just that, revealing and reinventing themselves in a way that may at first seem shocking or unexpected. But, ultimately, speaks to a next phase of personal evolution. If you are a mutable sign — Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces — you’re likely feeling this in a major corner of your life.
