Mars arrives in Sagittarius! Over the coming six weeks we’re searching the world for new adventures. We also have a desire to learn and explore the philosophical side of life. That said, we’ll need to steer clear of Mars in Sagittarius’s opinionated streak.
Right now, with the Sun in Capricorn along with four other planets, Sagittarius is a bit of a blind spot for those Capricorn planets. That means that we need to make sure that any unconscious beliefs or limited ways of thinking aren’t clouding what we’re doing this January.
Instead, use Mars to search within for answers over the coming three weeks. This is a very existential and possibly spiritual placement for Mars and it’s a Mars that can’t take action like it normally does. It has to resist impulse. It has to reflect on how it’s using its power.
Mars is also the ruler of today’s Aries Moon, a Moon that’s sparking off the eclipse degrees — not just the solar eclipse degree from December 26, 2019, but the lunar eclipse degree for January 10, 2020. We’re at a turning point. Events may come up that feel fated or integral to an unfolding story. The next part of the story arrives with the lunar eclipse next week.
It’s important to note that with five planets in Capricorn right now, including Saturn, Pluto, and Mercury, whatever decisions we’re making right now have weight and permanence. So if there’s something that you want to decide and want it to last, this is your astrology.
That said, we have a Taurus Moon weekend, one that wants to slow down, have fun and spend time with friends. Enjoy it as things will start to get more intense as we go into next week’s lunar eclipse at 20 degrees Cancer.
I’ll be talking about this and more in my Astrology of 2020 webinar on Tuesday, January 7. Learn about this year’s major themes and how they may play out in each sign. Details and registration here. You can still register for the replay even if you cannot join live.
