We’re in the waning days of Sagittarius Season. Here in the northern hemisphere, the nights are increasingly longer, colder. But we still have the spark of Sagittarius encouraging us, a sign that wants us to look towards the stars and connect with something greater.
There’s a element of star gazing to the sign of Sagittarius. It’s a sign that wants us to explore as well as find meaning in something as vast as the heavens. It’s filled with wonder that we as individuals are so small when compared to a planet such as Jupiter or the arm of a spiral galaxy, yet indelibly linked to the fabric of creation.
This time of year is when the Sun lines up with the Galactic Center, which is to say the ribbon of stars that cluster at the center of our galaxy, which we call the Milky Way. It’s a time when we’re naturally attuned, even if on an subconscious level, that the world beyond this earth is to vast and undiscovered. Who are we? Where are we? What does it all mean?
In contrast, the Moon is in Taurus today, a sign that gets us right back to the earth beneath our feet. As we ponder, philosophize, and wonder, we’re also getting back to basics. Taurus wants us to take pleasure in the physical world, from enjoying good food to moving slowly and purposefully through the day. So we’re bridging heaven and earth today, the vastness of the world versus what’s right in front of us.
Note that the Sun is also coming up to a square to Chiron tomorrow. There’s an emotional subtext going on to our experiences and interactions. A nerve may be getting pressed that goes much deeper than this lifetime and into something on a soul level. More on that tomorrow.
