Welcome to the Aquarius Full Moon, the time in the lunar calendar when the spotlight is on friends and community, society and humanity, systems and networks. Aquarius opens our eyes to the world and the collective and our place within it. The full moon is exact on July 29, 2026 at 10:36 am ET, 6 degrees Aquarius-Leo. That’s 7:36 am Los Angeles, 3:36 pm London, 4:36 pm Johannesburg, 8:06 pm New Delhi, 12:36 am Sydney on July 30, and 2:36 am Auckland.
Full moons are decision points. They can provoke us to take action or coincide with events. The seeds that we planted during the Cancer New Moon two weeks before have come into full view.
On paper, Cancer and Aquarius do not seem to have much in common. Cancer is the sign of home and family, of emotional closeness, care, and connection. Cancer is also the fourth sign of the zodiac, a space of sky that symbolically represents the fundamentals and building blocks of our personal lives.
Aquarius, on the other hand, is the eleventh sign of the zodiac. It takes us out of the personal and into the collective. From the perspective of Cancer, we can’t get any further from the comforts of the familiar and of home.
And yet connection is something very rooted within each sign. For Cancer, it’s emotional connection. For Aquarius, it’s the systems that link us, whether they are socially based, through friends and community, or the systems that bring us together as a town, a nation, or even a planet. Aquarius reminds us that we are a human family.
That said, this is a full moon that falls just two weeks before a solar eclipse. There’s an emotional intensity to this full moon that plays upon the energies of the eclipse as well as its energies of powerful change even though this full moon is not an eclipse. It also highlights larger themes around connection and belonging that we have been navigating since the February 17 Aquarius solar eclipse.
Where do I belong? Who are my people? My friends and community? Am I willing to make major structural changes in my life in order to build or rebuild connection?
This full moon is next to Pluto in Aquarius, making a close conjunction. If full moons are decision points or provocations, we are seeing and experiencing the light of the full moon through the lens of Pluto as well as a larger story in our lives that began when Pluto entered Aquarius in 2023-2024.
When I think of Pluto, I think of the clearing out what is past its usefulness and the clearing out of psychic space so new things can grow. I also think of the emotional force of facing what has been hidden within so we can grow on a soul level. When I talk about Pluto with my clients, I speak in terms of a “gut renovation” and taking a part of our lives down to studs in order to put up new walls and put in new wiring.

Perhaps that is not quite what you are going through around this full moon, but it is worthwhile to pay attention to what is moving in your life, even if it’s only emotional or internal. Pluto always reveals what has been hidden.
On the other side of the sky from this full moon is the Sun and Jupiter in Leo, a union of fire and light, a spark of inspiration and motivation, a desire for more out of our lives that pulls upon the force of Pluto. Saturn is also a focal point for the Aquarius Full Moon. And as its ruler, it pulls the energy of the full moon towards Aries where we find Saturn at 14 degrees. Recently turned retrograde, this full moon amplifies Saturn’s energies. This may be a full moon that coincides with major personal milestones, commitments, achievements, but even endings and the setting of boundaries.
In total, this is a powerful full moon that falls in the intersection of different stories — the eclipses, Pluto in Aquarius, Jupiter in Leo, and Saturn in Aries. With many things likely moving in the coming days and weeks, Saturn reminds us to know our limits and focus on what is a priority. It’s Pluto that may signal what is no longer a priority in our lives.
