Welcome to Aries Season and the astrological new year. The Sun arrives in Aries, marking the spring equinox in the northern hemisphere and autumn in the southern. It’s equal day and night. Aries is the spark of new beginnings and the force to move forward.
Each year we get a chance to begin again. Here in the northern hemisphere, we’re seeing the stirrings of new life. There are buds on the trees and patches of vibrant green against a wintered landscape. Even if you are located somewhere else, Aries symbolically represents the rebirth of life. It is an energy that we can tap into any time of year.
Ruled by Mars, Aries inspires us to take action, to find our individuality, to have the courage and bravery to set a new course. The dreams of Pisces now want to become reality. So, what do we desire? Now is the time to go after it.
This year, however, Mars is in Pisces until April 9, so we begin the season and the astrological new year with one foot in an old cycle. Or, another way to look at it, to take action with Aries, the first sign of the zodiac, but to do so with the wisdom and intuition of Pisces, the last sign of the zodiac.
Over the next few weeks, we have some important astrology on the horizon. The Aries Sun will meet up with Neptune and Saturn in Pisces, two planets that have been marking a shift of eras since January-February. The March 25 Sun-Saturn conjunction will be a big check-in on a new story that has been coming into focus in our lives. On April 9, Mars will get into Aries and a story will come more into focus.
