Let’s talk about this Aries Full Moon that’s clocking in early on Sunday. My good friend, who is an Aries, was baffled that I wasn’t talking about it more. And I was like, dude, I’ve been laying out the whole story this week. Here’s your recap.

We started the lunar month on September 30 with the Libra New Moon, highlighting relationships of all varieties. Something that I’ve noticed in particular, especially now that Jupiter is in Libra for the next year, is that this lunar month really forced us to look at how balanced, how fair our interpersonal relationships are. With Venus in Scorpio as well, there’s been a darker undercurrent to this lunar month, one that touches on secrets, revelations, power, control, abuse, vulnerability, sexuality, shame, and the darker side of love and sex.

This is the energetic framework we’re working within.

When you zoom out some more, there’s an even bigger framework at play, one that has dominated the astrology of the last five, six years. And that’s a powerful square (90 degree angle) between two slow moving planets, Uranus and Pluto.

For those with some intermediate or advanced astrological knowledge, you’ll know that the last square between Uranus and Pluto was in March of 2015. But, surprise, we’re still feeling the effects. This is something we fancy astrologers call “orb.”

For those not in the know, let me explain it this way. Think back to who you were in, say, 2011. Chances are you’re a very different person. The landscape of your life is even extraordinarily different. Maybe you often marvel at the rapid pace of change in your life.

It’s not just you. We’ve all had to quickly shift and transform in the last few years. Everything is different. The energy of Uranus and Pluto combined is a force of nature, a wave that sweeps over our life and leaves nothing untouched. And if astrology tells us what time it is, then Uranus/Pluto square of 2011 told humanity it had to change, evolve, cast aside the old in sometimes sudden ways.

Why am I mentioning Uranus and Pluto? Because Sunday’s full moon will fall right on Uranus in Aries, activating an energy that’s rolled through the collective over the last few years. Mars, the ruler of the full moon, is over in Capricorn, coming up to a conjunction to Pluto.

Make no mistake, this is an intense full moon. But it’s really important to take consciousness of the energy and give it direction. Uranus in Aries is an awakening, a breakthrough, sudden impulse to strike out on our own. It’s also a separation from the old, a break, and a descent into chaos. It’s no wonder the world seems like its tearing itself apart of late.

Full moons sometimes force us to see what we don’t want to see. So, let’s head eyes open into the weekend. Let’s be open to insight, breakthrough, radical yet positive transformation. The world may not be in a good place right now, but there are still good people. We have to choose consciousness, openness, awakening. How we interact with each other has to change (Aries/Libra). The alternative is anti-consciousness, willful ignorance, judgement.

More on this full moon this weekend.
