Here we are, the last square between Uranus and Pluto, two monumental forces that have been battling it out since 2012. Like the Sumerian myth of Inanna passing through the seven gates, we’ve endured seven initiations at the hands of Uranus and Pluto and each time we’ve had to leave a piece of our old life behind. To say it’s been hard is an understatement.

If astrology tells us what time it is, then the Uranus/Pluto square has been a clock pointing to change on an epic scale. And squares — two planets 90 degrees apart from each other — incite us to take action. Pluto tears down the old and Uranus inspires to innovate something new. It’s revolution and breakdown as much as it’s awakenings and breakthroughs.

Not sure how these forces apply to you? Look back over the last few years and you’ll see a marked shift. Maybe you’ve left a marriage, started a new career, or reinvented yourself. The dates below may even correspond with major events in your life:

Seven is such a powerful number. There are seven chakras, seven days of the week, seven notes, and seven planets in antiquity. If the seventh square between Uranus and Pluto is a nod to Saturn, the last classical planet, then it is intriguing that Saturn turned retrograde on March 14, a couple of days before the final event.

So where do we go from here? What does it all mean?

Uranus and Pluto will pass the baton to Saturn and Neptune; now begins our search for truth. It may start as an existential crisis, but the next leg of our evolutionary journey is to try to make sense of where we’ve been and connect it to something beyond ourselves. Neptune in Pisces show us to the oneness of everything. Saturn in Sagittarius is the to ground the experience in reality with rituals and structure. This will be a major focus later this year and into 2016.

But before we say goodbye to the Uranus/Pluto square, don’t forget to create with their potent energy. If Pluto has cleared the landscape, what will you build in its place? What new idea is ready to breakthrough and take root? As we pass through the last initiation of Uranus and Pluto, don’t forget to mediate and reflect. How will you honor these initiations? Your new consciousness? That said, we’ve just made it through some of the toughest astrology we’ll ever experience.
