With the Sun in Libra, the spotlight is on Venus in Scorpio for the next few weeks. It’s a season to not just look at relationships in all their forms, but to examine their psychological foundations. Scorpio is driven to examine, to transform. It needs trust above all.
Classically Venus is not at home in Scorpio. It’s the sign of its “detriment”, which is a traditional way of pointing out that Venus is in the opposite the sign that it rules. (Venus is the ruler of Taurus and Libra and is in its detriment in Scorpio and Aries.)
Instead, Venus is in a Mars-ruled sign. Venus is normally the peacemaker, but in Scorpio it has to take on the qualities of Mars, the planet of drive, action, and even aggression. Another way of looking at it, this is a Venus that is more active than receptive, more in touch with its desires, more able to go after what it needs.
So, ask yourself, what do you desire? (Desire has to be felt; it can’t be conceptual.) Scorpio values honesty, whether it’s honest feedback from a trusted confidant or honesty with ourselves. If you are in a romantic relationship, this may be a season to have frank discussions or to search for deeper intimacy. There’s a lot of courage in Venus in Scorpio, even when conversations may pose uncomfortable.
In other news, Mercury makes a trine to Uranus, an opportunity to see things differently, to get a bright new perspective that creates a shift. With tomorrow’s opposition to Neptune, spend time listening to your intuition.
