Pluto prepares to turn direct in Capricorn, another stepping stone in a story of profound restructuring that’s been unfolding since 2008. Pluto holds a mirror to us. Do we like what we see?
Although Pluto will turn direct tomorrow, just in time for the Libra New Moon, it’s important to become aware of its effects. Like all outer planets, which is to say planets that are in the outer reaches of our solar system, Pluto is an evolutionary planet. It doesn’t work on a day-to-day level. Instead, its work is to get us to transform. By any means possible.
There’s a spiritual alchemy to Pluto. But first, it means that we have to look at our shadows, the parts of ourselves we disown or down want to claim, the unhealed parts of ourselves that we project onto others. We have to transform our darkness into light.
Pluto is also power and an unflinching look at power dynamics and toxic interpersonal connections. Wherever Pluto is, we have to find our power. But often we have to take it back from others who are happy to be the power for us.
Pluto’s been in Capricorn since January 2008 and again since November 2008. Old structures have come down. We’ve had to rip out what’s not working. We’ve had to rebuild and sometimes even rebuild again. But at the heart of this 16 year time, which comes to a close in 2023-2024, is a lasting renovation of not just a collective experience but an area of our personal life as well.
