The Moon trades Aries for Taurus, moving from dynamic and energized to sensual and grounded. Normally this would be a weekend to slow down and enjoy the beauty and pleasure of Taurus, but the October 31 full moon shakes us awake and opens our eyes.
Although it seems noteworthy that the full moon occurs on Halloween, the real significance of it is that it makes an exact alignment to Uranus in Taurus, which is to say that the Moon and Uranus are in the same place in the sky. Full moons put things into the spotlight. They’re triggers. They demand that we take action. And this full moon puts into full light a story that began more than two years ago.
Think back to May 2018. That was the month that Uranus arrived in Taurus for the first time since the 1930s and early 1940s. If Uranus is the planet of awakenings, revolution, and reinvention, then its time in Taurus has been a shake up of our relationship with money, resource, stability, and material needs. It even has been a shake up in our relationship with our bodies and self worth.
Tomorrow’s full moon brings this story awakening and reinvention forward. It’s front and center. We can see what this time is about. (Need a hint? Read Uranus in Taurus: Sign by Sign.)
At the heart of Uranus is a planet that just wants us to be ourselves without any limits. And the Taurus Full Moon may push us out of our comfort zone to do so.
In other news, it’s important talk a little bit about Halloween and why this time of the year has traditionally been used to celebrate the dead as well as the forces of life and death. Once upon a time these pagan celebrations aligned with the midpoint between the autumnal equinox and the winter solstice, which is to say 15 degrees of Scorpio, the middle of the sign.
But, because of the precession of the equinoxes, Halloween no longer aligns with 15 Scorpio. The real date to observe, when the Sun reaches the midpoint, is November 6 (or November 7 if you are in Australia or New Zealand). Just a spooky fun fact for you to think about as you celebrate Halloween this year.
