Welcome to Scorpio Season, our annual descent into our emotional and psychic unknown, the sign that takes us to the bridge between life and death. With Mars square Pluto, emotions are running high.
That’s the thing about astrology; it runs on what’s called rulerships or ruling planets. While in Libra Season, the energy of the sky primarily pointed over to a genial Venus in Sagittarius. But when the Sun arrived in Scorpio on October 23, the energy switched and, instead, pointed over to an intense square between Mars and Pluto.
If emotions are coming up today — complicated and perhaps even messy emotions — they’re likely from somewhere deep within. Scorpio, with the support of Mars and Pluto, digs into and reveals all that it is hidden, buried, or suppressed. Pluto often brings it forth like a volcano.
None of this is without purpose, though. If something is coming up, it’s because it has to come up — it’s in the way of something or it’s a blind spot that we keep running up against. This is a transmutation.
Speaking of Scorpio, later this week Mars will trade Libra for Scorpio on October 30. Scorpio Season is about to get very interesting. To go back to an earlier point about ruling planets, the energy of Scorpio Season will concentrate in Scorpio. We’ve got our deep emotional work cut out for us in November.
