We’re in the midst of some powerful astrology this week. Saturn is now direct, a planet that demands accountability, commitment, and structure. Both Mars and Jupiter make big changes, too. And tomorrow’s solar eclipse in Scorpio marks a major chapter.
First, as I spoke in last week’s astrology update, Saturn turned direct at 18 Aquarius, its last change of direction in a sign that it will leave in March 2023. Saturn speaks to what we’re building and learning, both personally and collectively. It can mark karmic tests or times when we have to see the results of our actions. But Saturn can mark major milestones, decisions and turning points and we may be experiencing just that.
We’re also in Scorpio Season and tomorrow’s solar eclipse at 2 Scorpio is one of the decisive astrological transits this year. That’s because it activates the energies of Saturn square Uranus, which means that the coming days and months, into next April, may be marked by shakeups, breakthroughs, and transformations. One thing will be clear over the next six months is that we can’t keep doing things the way we’ve been doing them.
Later this week Jupiter returns to Pisces, a sign it was in at different points in 2021 and 2022. This two month visit is a time to wrap up old stories and prepare for something new. Jupiter in Pisces is also a planet that relies on deep faith and a belief that everything is going to work out. (Read Jupiter in Pisces: Sign by Sign.)
Lastly, Mars turns retrograde on October 30 at 25 Gemini. That, coupled with the energies of the Scorpio solar eclipse, means that it’s a week where we are navigating deep emotions, themes that touch on trust, security, power, and control.
