Mars arrives in Sagittarius for a six-week stay, bringing its power and drive to a sign that wants to see the world. It’s an expansive place for Mars to travel, inspiring us to look beyond ourselves and towards the heavens, to motivate us to learn and explore.
Sagittarius is the last fire sign, an element that sparks new beginnings. It’s a creative energy, too, building upon the life force of Aries and the solar energy of Leo. Sagittarius is the light of the stars. It’s no coincidence that the constellation of Sagittarius aligns towards the the Milky Way and the center of our galaxy, a supermassive black hole named Sagittarius A*.
Back here on planet Earth, Mars in Sagittarius wants to travel to distant lands or even other countries. It wants to tell stories and share its point of view. Mars, newly in Sagittarius, immediately makes an opposition to Uranus in Gemini, a powerful aspect that can confront and shake up the status quo. Information or conversations may challenge (or proverbially blow our minds), especially with Mercury in Sagittarius as well.
Since we’re in the early stages of Uranus in Gemini, it’s possible that personal events and new ideas are setting the groundwork for a larger change and transformation that will take place over the next seven years. (Read Uranus in Gemini: Sign by Sign for more information.)
Let’s also not forget that in Sagittarius Mars activates eclipse energy, namely the September 7 lunar eclipse at 15 Pisces and the September 21 solar eclipse at 29 Virgo. Mars brings the energies of new beginnings into reality and we should take note of events, particularly around November 26 and December 15.
