Mars turns direct in Aries after a two month retrograde, giving us the drive and motivation to move forward. But this may feel like a dam break of energy, releasing pent up anger and aggression. Give this hot headed, restless energy a positive outlet.
We’re not only in the last leg of Scorpio Season, but the Moon is now in Scorpio in preparation for the November 15 Scorpio New Moon. Scorpio is also a Mars ruled sign, which is to say that Scorpio finds its power in Mars. But Mars has been retrograde since September 9 and, thus, this has been a Scorpio Season where the power and intensity of Scorpio has been muted.
This changes later today.
Although Mars is a very physical sign, its expression through Scorpio, a water element sign, is emotional. Scorpio is known for its stings as well as its words that can emotionally cut or penetrate. There’s a power to Scorpio, a power that has to be used wisely otherwise it can destroy.
As we feel the energy of Mars building and releasing as it moves forward, we have to be aware of our own Mars, which is to say how we use our power, how we cut, how we lead, how we use our will. Is it to destroy? Or is it to empower? Transform ourselves and others? (Want to know what part of your chart Mars in Aries is activating? Read Mars in Aries: Sign by Sign.)
Mars is also in a tight spot in the sky, so we may find things tense as we go into December, Mars making its final square to Pluto in Capricorn on December 23. Plus, as we go into a new moon on Sunday, November, 15, we enter a lunar month punctuated by a lunar eclipse. In short, things are about to get interesting.
