We start the week with a Moon in Leo, one that’s pulling past the first quarter moon. Only seven days from a lunar eclipse, anything is possible. But the Leo Moon has been an important preview the past few days.
There’s some simple mechanics at play when you try to map out a series of eclipses. First, a month or so out, planets start to pick up on the upcoming degrees of the solar and lunar eclipses. Events can foreshadow what’s to come around the time of the eclipses.
Then the Moon will get to the last quarter moon before a solar eclipse or even the first quarter moon after a solar eclipse, like we saw this past weekend. Another trigger. While this may seem technical, it’s important to understand that time and energy wrap around key points in the sky. They are alive as well as electric.
The other important to thing to understand is that theres an energy seeded with solar eclipse and that energy, as we saw in the Taurus New Moon solar eclipse on April 30, was all about change, upset, reinvention, wild cards, and breaking out of the mold. If you recall, the solar eclipse made a conjunction to Uranus in Taurus, an energy that creates radical shifts.
That energy is still with us this week and beyond. Solar eclipses open up a six month chapter. It’s like we all collectively entered a new block of time, one heavily influenced by the energies of Uranus in Taurus. And there will be points in the future where we revisit this energy, whether it’s the Leo New Moon on July 28, 2022 or the upcoming Scorpio Full Moon lunar eclipse on May 16.
In contrast to the energies of Taurus Season, Scorpio talks about the decay of life, a necessary step that allows life to come again in spring. Scorpio also touches on deep emotions, themes around trust and safety, intimacy and vulnerability, power and control. Surely we’re all going to be feeling these deep emotional themes in the run up to the lunar eclipse, only a week away.
That said, Jupiter’s at the end of Pisces today after a relatively short stay in the sign. Come tomorrow, Jupiter, the planet of inspiration, knowledge, and the search for meaning arrives in Aries and starts a new cycle. More on that tomorrow. In the meantime, it’s a day to find answers to existential questions and prepare ourselves for a new adventure.
