We start the week off with an Aquarius Moon, one that aligns with Saturn. As a result, we’re seriously thinking about our future, making connections, and looking at the big picture. With the Sun also square Saturn, it’s a day for accountability and milestones, too.
One of the features of May’s astrology is Saturn’s retrograde turn on May 23. While Saturn Retrograde is a relatively run of the mill event, it does put us in touch with two things all month long. The first is that we’re preparing for a check-in with our Saturn in Aquarius story.
Think back to December 17, 2020. That’s when Saturn entered Aquarius, which kicked off a two year story of working, building, and strengthening our social networks. As a result, our friendships and alliances are under scrutiny. We’re reevaluating our communities. We’re trying to find more belonging.
So, how are we doing? May is a check in on our progress. It’s also a check in on a certain part of our life depending on what sign we are. Not sure where? Read Saturn in Aquarius: Sign by Sign.
The second thing is that Saturn’s in a square to Uranus in Taurus, which is not unlike seismic energy pushing and pulling at our lives. We’re likely making big changes in May as the things that seemed rock solid and defined in our lives maybe aren’t so rock solid before.
In other news, Mercury returns home to Gemini today, a sign that will make us feel its restless curiosity. Mercury is strong in Gemini, which means that communication, information, movement, travel, and education will be a larger thread for the next few months. (Mercury won’t leave Gemini until July 11 because of a retrograde from May 30 to June 22.)
