Pluto turns retrograde in Aquarius, which is not only a powerful start to the month, but a major checkpoint with an energy that will be with us into the coming years. Pluto is a force of transformation and reformation, revealing something to us that will irrevocably shift.
If you recall, Pluto arrived in Aquarius on March 23 for the first time in over two hundred years. Yes, it’s hard to wrap our heads around what that means. In comparison, the Sun returns to Aquarius each year. Saturn every 30 years. But for Pluto it takes 248 years, taking 20 years to travel the sign.
This is the start of a new era.
For reference, we can look back to 2008 when Pluto arrived in Capricorn. By now, we can see the effects of Pluto in the Capricorn area of our astrology. Nothing looks the same as it did 15 years ago. (Read Pluto in Capricorn: Sign by Sign for a refresh.)
What is Pluto? It’s a planet that reveals the power behind something … the power that fuels our lives, whether it’s constructive or destructive. Pluto can be a force of annihilation. But it can also bring us to powerful moments of real transformation. (I did a whole webinar on Pluto in Aquarius.)
Look for the clues today, the subtle or not so subtle revelations that show you what’s really at the heart of something. In astrology, Pluto is said to turn shadows into light, which is to say that it reveals our dark unconscious so that we can restore things in light.
In a similar vein, we’ve got a Scorpio Lunar Eclipse later this week, another powerhouse energy that activates Uranus in Taurus, another evolutionary force of awakenings and transformation. Things may be a bit emotional and a touch dramatic this week. Then again, it’s eclipse season. The curtain has come down on one act and has come up on the next.
