Venus arrives home to Taurus, an earth sign that governs over the material as well as the natural world. With Venus finding its strength in Taurus, we in turn find value in pleasure and sensuality, stability and security. The spark of Aries Season begins to create life.
When I think of Venus in Taurus, I think of the Empress Card in the major arcana of the Tarot. In it we see the image of a pregnant woman, resplendent and crowned with stars. It also brings to mind the flowers of May, heavy with perfume. There is a real sensuality to Venus in Taurus that can feel like a real revitalization after cold winter days.
The first order of business for Venus in Taurus, however, will be a square to Pluto in Aquarius later this week, a combination that can be magnetic and seductive. Pluto, however, can amplify Venus in Taurus’s sensuality. For some, we have to be careful of not getting pulled into overindulgence and self destructive behaviors.
The real work of Pluto will be to hold a mirror to Venus and, in turn, show us our shadows. What do we value? What is our relationship with the material plane? Whatever is in the way of a healthy relationship with Venus in Taurus may come to the surface so that it may be put into light.
Note that the April 1 Libra Full Moon will be a showcase for Venus square Pluto. We may be navigating some uncomfortable truths this week as a result.
