Mercury arrives home to Virgo, a sign that it will be in for the next two months. Normally a quick visit, Mercury will turn retrograde in a month. So, we have work to do in Virgo. It’s two months to organize and clean out as well as to reflect on our decision making.
Mercury is the ruler of both Gemini and Virgo, two signs that speak to how we listen and learn. We don’t always think of Virgo as a learning and communication sign, instead more known for its focus on health and wellness. But Virgo talks about the importance of critical thinking. It takes in the information from Gemini and starts to make sense of it.
Although the start of Mercury Retrograde isn’t until August 23 at 21 degrees, we’re going into a month where we have to be more aware of how we think, listen, and learn. More importantly, how we choose. Are we making the right choices? The most informed choices? The most mature choices?
After all, Mercury will spend August and September opposing Saturn in Pisces by sign, with the exact opposition on August 1. We’ve got commitments and decisions to make. And we may see how those decisions play out all through August and into September.
Mercury turns direct on September 15 at 8 Virgo and leaves the sign on October 4.
