The Sun squares Chiron in Aries. Although the aspect is exact today, we may have been navigating an old pain this week, a thread that draws us back to previous emotions or experiences that continue to ache. It’s a day to find healing, to have the courage to move forward for the sake of ourselves and others.

Although a newer addition to astrology, I see Chiron as an important contribution to a deeper understanding of ourselves and the world around us. It reveals what we often have to continue to go back to in order to heal, release, transmute, and transform. Often described as the wound that doesn’t heal, I disagree. (My guides have described Chiron as a knot, not a wound — an energetic knot of suffering that we work to untangle, not just for ourselves, but for others.) Read On Chiron, Suffering, and Knots.

With Chiron in Aries, the knot is around courage and bravery, our desire to move forward and take action, and our desire to stand up for ourselves. Perhaps we stifle what we really want. Or we find it hard to assert ourselves. (If you were born from 1968 to 1977, this may feel familiar; Chiron was last in Aries during those years.)

So, whatever you are feeling today, especially if it cuts into something deep or old, look for the subtext. What is it really about? How does it connect to a larger tapestry? When you undo the knot for yourself, you undo the knot for others.
