Mercury arrives in Leo. We’re learning to find our artistic voice, to put our spirit into everything we create. Over the next three weeks, seek out performance, cultivate romance, choose what’s in your heart. It’s an early preview of Leo Season, which starts next week.
We’ve got a few things on the horizon worth mentioning. As mentioned yesterday, Mars in Virgo will be making an opposition to Saturn in Pisces on July 20. In the meantime, do what you can to show up, take your responsibilities seriously, and make sure life is running smoothly. Mars and Saturn typically turn on the pressure.
The Nodes are preparing to change signs. This is not unlike the collective compass changing directions. Every 18 months, the Lunar Nodes change signs, pointing us towards a new horizon. With the North Node going into Aries on July 17, we’ll be finding our individuality as well as our courage and desire. But with the South Node in Libra, we have work to do on relationship, especially tackling any systemic patterns in how we connect with others.
We’re also at the midpoint of the eclipses this week and next, which means that we’re three months from the eclipses of April and May and three months before the eclipses of October 2023, in particular the solar eclipse to come at 21 Libra on October 14. It’s not uncommon to see an eclipse present itself through an event around the time of the midpoint, even if it’s three months before the eclipse.
Venus is also getting ready to turn retrograde at 28 Leo on July 22. Venus is what we love and value and what we invest in. It’s also the planet of relationship and, over July and August and into the start of September, we’re going back to something from the past — perhaps a past relationship, an unfinished romance, a second look at something we didn’t value the first time, or even our own self worth. The last time Venus was retrograde in Leo was July and August 2015.
