Mars joins Uranus in Taurus. It’s a realization of two years of work to reinvent, upend, and transform. We may be navigating a seismic shift. Then again, this shift began in 2018-2019 when Uranus entered Taurus.
What say over and over again is that astrology is the study of time — how we live it, learn from it, and exist within its many intersecting cycles. One of the wildest things about astrology is how a moment in time can connect to days, months, or even years before. When you link all the clues and details, there it is, as clear as day, even if it’s subtle.
Today’s conjunction between Mars and Uranus isn’t just about today, but about a story that began in May 2018 as well as March 2019 when Uranus first entered Taurus.
Uranus isn’t like other planets. It belongs to a class of planets discovered in “modern” times with the aid of the telescope. Before Uranus was discovered in 1781, all we knew of the planets was that they ended with Saturn, the last visible planet to the naked eye.
This new class of planets, which includes Neptune and Pluto and likely the planets discovered in the last 15-20 years, help us to evolve our consciousness. They awaken, transform, challenge, and push us to feel and connect something beyond ourselves.
So here comes Uranus. It spends seven years in each zodiac sign and it arrived in Taurus in May 2018 and then March 2019 after a retrograde back into Aries. Over the coming years, until 2025-2026, we’re evolving our consciousness through Taurus, which means that we’re shifting how we see the earth, material stability, the basics of life, money, value, ownership, food and agriculture, the body, pleasure.
That, however, is a broader look at Uranus in Taurus. For all of us, Taurus represents a certain area of our astrology chart and an area — it could be relationships, career, family — that needs a complete reinvention. Perhaps you have already seen this seismic shift since 2018, especially if you are a Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius. For the rest of you, read Uranus in Taurus: Sign by Sign.
Whatever shakes up today or in the days ahead, remember to get back into your body, to work to feel safe and grounded. And know it’s part of a larger story that continues to unfold.
Astrology is just understanding time and our relationship with time.
