We’re feeling some Scorpio Moon vibes as we start the week, a Moon that reaches deep into our psyche and digs into any uncertainties, especially about the future. With Mars direct in Gemini, we’re starting to move forward and make serious decisions.
Scorpio isn’t an easy place for the Moon to be, a sign that speaks more to decay than the flourishing of life. But it gets to the heart of things, sometimes uncomfortably so. The Moon joins the South Node of the Moon, a point in the sky that speaks to release. Use today to get organized, but to also make space — emotionally, psychically — for something new to enter.
We’ve got a few things on the horizon to talk about. First, we’re in the last few days of the Capricorn Season as well as the lunar month, one that began on December 23. Things are wrapping up. It’s time to go within and reflect. It’s even the end of the lunar year and we’re preparing for the Lunar New Year on January 21.
Mercury will also turn direct on January 18, which means that the energies may be a little back and forth. When it does change direction at 8 Capricorn, it’s time to make a commitment.
Then there’s the start of Aquarius Season on January 20 followed by the Aquarius New Moon on January 21, one that showcases the energies of Saturn in Aquarius for one last time. This means that we’re bringing to a close a three year chapter focused on friendship and community, social connection and networks, science and technology, social issues and humanitarian themes.

Finally, Uranus will turn direct at 14 Taurus later this week, on January 22, adding an element of the unexpected to this week’s events. Uranus likes to turn things upside down and wake us up to new visions, new experiences, and new realities. More on that later.
