We’re on the eve of a new moon. Typically a time to pull back, we instead find rest and repose. We turn inward for answers and we prepare for the cycle to begin again. That said, an electric square between the Sun and Uranus is a point of friction and evolution.
In astrology, Uranus evokes the Greek myth of Prometheus, the one of the Titans as well as a god of fire. In the myth, Prometheus brings fire to humanity, a transgressive act that earns him great punishment. For us, there is an archetype in this mythic act — to bring light to dark, to bring illumination in a way that can be shocking or liberating.
We’re nearly six years into Uranus’s time in Taurus and for some of you the time around May 2018 and March 2019 may have been illuminating or shocking or liberating. While not always dramatic, there is a seed of change in that time that is likely still playing out. (Read Uranus in Taurus: Sign by Sign.)
Today’s square between the Sun and Uranus as well as tomorrow’s new moon brings this energy to the forefront. While a lot has been made of Pluto as of late and its recent monumental change of signs, let’s not forget that Uranus was a big player in our experiences from 2020 to 2023.
If you are in AUSTRALIA or NZ, this forecast applies approximately for February 9, 2024.
