Moon in Aries, one that picks up on Mars’s tense square to Pluto. We’re feeling a sense of drive and competition. We need to move our bodies and get exercise. But if we’re trying to hold back how we feel, it may come out like a torrent.
Pluto brings things to the surface. It shows us what’s really there. It can be confrontational so that we can transform and reform something previously unconscious or hidden. With Mars’s last square to Pluto — the final in a series that we last visited in August and October – we bring to a close a nearly six month period of time when we had to transform how we used our Mars.
And what is Mars?
Mars is the planet that reveals how we take action, how we use our will, how we push forward, or even defend ourselves. Depending on our own astrology, which is to say, where Mars was when we were born, we may have a hard time or an overly easy time accessing our Mars.
Too much Mars and we’re quick to run right over people and situations. We can’t let go of being in charge or having all the power. Too little Mars and we’re a push over, we float through life, or we’re a passive witness to everything. What’s the balance?
Mars’s time in Aries as well as its retrograde from September to November was a time for us to do a deep dive into our Mars and make necessary changes if needed. Today’s square to Pluto may give us one more hint at what needs to transform.
That said, Mars square Pluto often shows up in the charts of athletes and those with a strong sense of competition and drive. So it’s not inherently negative. It just requires a positive outlet.
