The Sun makes its final square to Neptune in a series of aspects that takes us back to March 13. Neptune is better felt than seen. It pulls at the edges of reality, blurring its boundaries. It can inspire deep emotional movements and acts of compassion.
Neptune’s a hard planet to get a line on and it’s one of the more misunderstood planets in astrology. As an evolutionary planet (which is to say, planets discovered in “modern” times), its function is to get us to grow and evolve by any means possible. And Neptune shows us our spiritual work. Whatever we’re working on with Neptune, it’s beyond our personal wants and desires. Instead, it’s the wants of the soul and the path needed for an evolution to happen.
With that in mind, Neptune works beyond our physical world on a level more like the Moon. It can transmit and amplify emotional and subconscious energies. But unlike the Moon, it works on a transpersonal level.
You can’t get more personal than the Sun, a planet that speaks to the level of the self and the ego. How do we work to resolve the space between who we think we are at the level of the self and how we are at a much higher level?
As a result, it’s a day to let go of attachments and sufferings, anything the ego has led us to believe is the sum of who we are. It’s a day to open up to the higher self, to feel our emotions, and to surrender to the greater current of life.
