The Sagittarius Sun makes its annual conjunction to the South Node, a reminder that not only are we in eclipse season, but we’re four days away from a solar eclipse. Life may feel intense at the moment as we anticipate the next big chapter.

The ancients looked at eclipses with awe and trepidation. After all, the Sun or the Moon would disappear from the sky, consumed by a mythological dragon. Of course, we now know the astronomical mechanics behind the eclipses, but it’s still a powerful symbolic event.

Right now, the Sun is in same point in the sky as the South Node, one half of the Lunar Nodes. If the North Node represents the direction we need to reach towards collectively and personally, then the South Node represents the past. It’s our karma. It’s a place that’s a little too comfortable. It’s also a point of release.

If something is coming up for you right now, it’s an old story. Perhaps even a story that connects to past lives or collective and ancestral memory. The solar eclipse is in Sagittarius, a sign that speaks to faith, truth, and meaning. We’re examining our faith. We’re looking at our karma around what we believe in, from the crusades we fight to the convictions we stake so much in. Is it possible that we’ve gotten it all wrong? Or that our ego has gotten in the way of us seeing the full picture?

That said, the great stage of our life prepares for the next act.
